Hungry Hippo Alliteration

1

The hippo was hungry, again hungrier than any animal in the jungle, he asked the zebra if he could eat his hair, he asked the bee for his honey, he asked the giraffe for his hot soup, all said go home. The hippo was at home, hungry all alone with only his grumbling stomach. Hippo always was hungry with no one helping him he lay alone hoping for help, no help but still a hungry hippo.

2

The baby rocking slowly in his bed, now awake and full of mysterious thought, the clock strikes 12 he tries to sleep but a noise awakens him he lays wondering why he can’t sleep. His eyes shut, he slowly gets sleepier he was caught by a man in a black mask who came barging into the room He awoke to the clock striking in awe, It was a dream and now he never wanted to fall asleep again.

School Bells

Onomatopoeia

5

Dreadful morning, too early to function first bell ring, ring, ring time so fast rushing, off to class 1

Stomach aching, aching to eat waiting for the ring lunch bell ring, ring, ring excited to get a small break off to lunch

6

Waiting all day seems like a year, last bell ring, ring, ring kids running tap, tap ,tap off to home where freedom awaits.

I always feel bad, balls hitting my skin in the scorching sun all day sweat jumping on to me, I feel dizzy from all the running and turning I’m bouncy from the balls and when I get to rest at night, I know the next morning pain will come all over again

Tennis Racket Personification

Grandma’s Lipstick (Imagery)

9

Lipstick to cover up the wrinkled lips when I see her for the first time in 2 years, the wet lipstick touching my cheek leaving a strawberry scent behind. Always remember the “muah sound and strawberry taste, even when apart the lipstick of grandma will always stick with me

10

I called my friend in September to go to the fair She said she’ll go after her appointment of hair, My brother drove us, I almost threw up Then we ran to the entrance to get some sup, The first ride was calm Then we went to ride The Palm, It was the scariest ride ever made We got on and my friends face started to fade, After the ride we grabbed some elephant ears Then saw a puppy that gave us tears, I was glad I went to Fair September This is a night I will always remember.

Fair September (Rhyme)

12

Feelings Inside (Simile/ Metaphor)

13

Two peas in a pod, one of my best friends, we laugh all day like two howling wolves sometimes we fight like two barking dogs, we say we hate eachother, but make up the next minute, no one gets our relationship, like two secret ninjas we never admit the love, but deep inside, deeper than the ocean, we love eachother, like brother and sister

14

The best spread ever, not just any spread but chocolate, the creamy taste on a warm slice of toast. Has nuts and chocolate (ew)... tastes horrible alone, so fattening and people never stop eating it! Comes in a jar you can put it on anything, or eat it alone has hazelnuts and chocolate.

15

Nutella (Tone)

16

Party Night (Mood)

17

Conceited At the party, having fun crash, when my friend did something stupid and cops came in my parents were furious but I didn't speak. I was protecting my friend like a mother to her cubs.

18

Modest At the party, afraid of being in trouble boom, when a stranger did something horrible the cops showed up my parents were infuriated! I told I told all what happened protecting no one, speaking like a croaking frog.

Walking past the Eiffel Tower, eating macaroons for breakfast, then going to Le Arch de Triumph. After eating lunch at La Boulangerie, we went to see the Mona Lisa and walked all around the city. It was an experience in Paris

Experience in Paris (Allusion)

Homework (Hyperbole)

21

The loads of homework every single day, memorizing poems until 12:00 am writing reports that go on forever having to use a calculator for the math homework getting done with homework and sleep for what it feels 1 hour the dreadful homework will never be enjoyable.

Dos’t thou ever feelest like an old bag

Wrinkled, saggy so light soaring through the air Are though underground none to hear your nag Thou spark ignites like a glistening flare

Thou art not devoid of space that is waste Thine future can not be told on this day

Greatness is something thou will often taste

Storms may come and rain but rainbows will stay Roads lead to doors that open new portals

Thy heart will gleam like bright pyrotechnics Explosions in the sky like immortals

Stopwatch goes off my heart boom boom boom tick Thou spirit is sparkling like a hidden

gem the world will know thee and awaken
