METROPOSCAPE Site: Stanley Park, VANCOUVER Course: 2067 Stanley Park, M.Arch Studio IV Professor: Martin Lewis In the next 50 years Global metropoles will need to search for alternative methods of expansion and densification while simultaneously redefining the link between the natural realm and the built environment. In the context of Vancouver, Stanley Park is a suitable site to densify due to its connectivity to the city and interior under-usage. This project proposes a mixed use settlement using nature's logic to define systems of circulation, city block forms, building typology and phenomenological qualities. Nine landscape/building typologies are knitted into respective landscape types of the park to synthesize human inhabitation and ecological processes. Note: Many of the renderings alter photos of existing significant buildings to create hybrid forms of building landscape housing block typologies.

BREAKING THE BUBBLE Site: LUND UNIVERSITY CAMPUS, SWEDEN

USER GROUPS

Course: Sustainable Urban Rrecycling, M.Arch Studio III Professor: Louise Lvenstierne The Lund University engineering campus is an opportune setting to densify due to its abundance of open land, proximity to the proposed Lund Science Park and accessibility to the Skne Region and Copenhagen. Currently, the campus has a student monoculture which dissaudes city residents from entering its premises. The proposed masterplan seeks to increase housing on campus for three user groups: students, swedish families, and migrant families seeking asylum in Sweden. This trio of inhabitants will reside together in modular housing developments that encourage social mixing to create a welcoming campus rich with cultural diversity.

WALMER RD RESIDENCE Site: Walmer rd single family dwelling, Toronto Firm: Plant architect inc. Project team: Mary Tremain, Lisa Dietrich, Jason Van Der Burg This project was phase two to a previous renovation on the Walmer residence. The phase two scope included the renovation of the ensuite bath, third floor bath, the master bedroom, powder room, and mudroom. Interior partition walls were reconfigured and new structural posts were added. New finishes and fixtures were installed in all bathrooms. Custom millwork was designed and installed in the mudroom, master bedroom and all bathrooms. New windows were installed on the 2nd and 3rd floor. My role in the project included drafting the construction drawings, finish selection, product research and attending site visits.

MAKE-TANK [THE NEW SALA BUILDING] Site: UBC CAMPUS, VANCOUVER Course: Conceptualizing the Technical, M.Arch Studio II Professor: Joanne Gates Project Team: Jen Whelan, Breanna Mulhall The proposed design for the new School of Architecture & Landscape Architecture [SALA] creates a network of thinking by providing the means through which students and others can explore and transfer their diverse interests and abilities. We are proposing to do this by increasing the range of traditional and modern tools used by design students. We have identified eight different tool typologies and distributed them throughout the building to give each level a research-intensive identity. In order to encourage crosspollination and break down hierarchy, we have combined student and faculty work spaces to create an allencompassing studio environment.

6 INCHES OF SEPARATION Site: 432 Park Ave, NYC USA Course: Asset urbanism, M.Arch Vertical Studio 1 Professor: Matthew Soules As New York City continues to build high end real estate there will be an increased need for affordable housing. Tall skinny condo towers, such as the 432 Park Avenue development, could hybridize affordable housing and luxury condos should the once unused poch space become inhabitable. This is a speculative project that questions the allocation of urban residential space to the wealthy and the homeless. Note: 432 Park Ave Tower is Rafael Vinoly Architect's design. this project, 6 inches of separation, would reside within vinoly's existing tower. Site plan

BAY ADELAIDE CENTRE Site: 132 Yonge St. Toronto ON Firm: ERA Architects Project Team: joey giaimo, amy norris & shannon clayton A heritage building was located on the proposed site of Brookfield multiplex's bay Adelaide centre tower podium. The heritage building's two street-front facades were cut into panels and reconstructed on the opposite corner of the block to preserve the building and allow the new development to proceed. The storefront and upper cornice were reconstructed to their original 1909 design. Three bays were added to the east facade and clad in GFRC panels made from casts of the original facade. My role on the project included assistance with contract administration including attending site visits, issuing construction documents and product research.
