ABOUT ME I am 22 years old and just completed a Bachelor of Design (Interior and Spatial) at University of Technology Sydney. Next year I would love the opportunity to work a few days a week in a firm while completing my honours year at UTS. I approach my work from an artistic background always striving to create an outcome that carries a message, or makes some form of statement. I am particularly interested in and excited about projects that explore the limitations and opportunities of human interaction and social relations in space. Also in immaterial architecture – light and shadow, and material texturing and detail. I would love the opportunity to further my knowledge in all areas and develop my skills in digital modeling, rendering and analogue modeling and drafting. Other interests include architecture, sailing, travelling, cooking, history and art.

VAPORISED museum of extinct atmospheres 2015

6

The Museum of extinct atmospheres is an adaptive interior use of Pier 2/3 Walsh Bay. By inserting these spaces into the Pier, it becomes an agent of deextinction for the past five epochs all of which have become extinct due to the passing of millennia. The project redefines traditional relationships between objects and spectators; the public re-positioned to engage with the ‘live exhibits’ to become active spectators immersed within the specific conditions of particular epoch. Derived from data collected for each epoch, the five atmospheres are positioned in a horizontal relationship relative to today current sea level. Surrounding the ‘exhibits’ is the infrastructure and technological systems required to constitute and conserve the climatic conditions creating a Museum of Extinct Atmospheres.

THE PUBLIC SPECTACLE

a cemetery beyond the necropolis 2015

12

An open ampitheatre for funeral services providing passive public spectatorship and patron participation. Situated in the gully of Waverley Cemetery, Sydney. An adaptable use space with potential for other concerts, theatre, other services and events to occur within the gully. The public are integrated into the space via visual connection and by the repositioning of the boardwalk to be part of the ceremony. The intervention takes its cues off the surrounding contours an implied external amphitheatre-like shape orientated towards the horizon becomes the focal point of the ceremony and all other secondary viewing platforms.

SUBMERGED

a temporary public pavilion 2014

24

Submerged, to descend below the surface. Situated at the harbour front of the MCA forecourt at Circular Quay, it becomes a tidal promenade offering an alternative connection to and from the city. Placed at the intersection of many public thoroughfares it gradually decomposes and dissolves the barrier between land and water allowing the tidal cycle to continually redefine what is fluid and solid. It becomes a gathering, refuge and resting place, and a release from the urban surroundings with potential for performance, spectacle and bathing.

CANOPY

a micro inhabitation in residual spaces 2014

30

Situated with a north aspect, at a high point of Oxford St, the interactive rock-climbing walls become a mode of elevation above the dense urban fabric providing the inhabitants with a disconnection from the city and views of natural landforms. The public rock-climbing facade also becomes a division between the public and private realm of the city. On the exterior, the public and internally the spaces are formed soley by the geometries of the rock climbing wall, where one is asked to interact and navigate the space not only through sight but also through feel and touch to uncover nooks of rest, sleep, study and living

EGELADOS

museum of archeological artefacts GLOBAL STUDIO 2014 The concept of the museum: ‘Egelados’: The motif of the shard recontextualised by the re-enactment of an explosion generates, through mapping, a gesture of the violent destruction of the artifact. As the shard penetrates the earth, it underlines the nature of an earthquake distorting the flat surface of the ground. This is echoed in the way in which light travels into the subterranean space. In this context, the shard begins to comment on the effects of both distortion and displacement that time exacts upon the whole; a condition explored through the shards positioned at the entrance into the structure to create a single, theatrical gesture. The form refers to and explores our personal experience at the archeological site. The narrative of digging and uncovering at the site therefore has influenced the layout and the design of the distinctive underground levels. Exploring the notion of time in reference to the sequence of expansion developed by the deconstruction of the artifacts has prompted the use of ramps. The continuity and cohesion between the slanted levels highlights the dynamic temporal experience through the building as a whole. The varied nature of these declines help express the uncertainty in the field of archeology and actively responds to the physical environment ok Kefalonia as well as the topography of the site itself.
