chicago midrise condominium

sp ri n g 2 0 1 1 | C H I C A G O, I L This design embraces C hicago’s “windy city reputation. Although the statement does not refer to its windy environment, C hicago does receive a go o d deal of wind from west and east. The main feature of this building is t he wind turbines. It is used to harness the wind and generate power for the entire building. It also serves as an aesthetic element; forming the crown and emphasizing the ver ticality of the building with the mast s. The arrangement of the windows and their placem ent b etween the ver tical mast s help tie the building into the grid system that dominates b oth the street layout and building facades of C hicago.

fa l l 2 0 1 0 | M ON TI C E L LO, I L The design for the visitor center focused on studying the landscape and integrating it into the design. A butterfly ro of form was implemented to accent how the experience of the park is much like that of a butterfly’s; it has the freedom and openness to engage with the surroundings.

red hook mixed use

sp r i n g 20 14 | R e d H o o k, N Y This design has reiterated the idea of bringing together the community to help it grow and return to the hustling neighb orho o d that it once was. Red Ho ok has b een a mixture of residential and m anufac turing. By generating a relationship b etween these two reinfor cees and cultivates the present dynamic of the neighb orho o d. Through the spearation of the programs on the site, connec tions can b e formed b etween these programs and the surround context fur ther engaging a blend.
