Awards Headliners Foundation of Texas Scholar, 2017-18, 2018-19 Description: Awarded to undergraduates that show outstanding potential in journalism by demonstrating strong academic records, writing ability, and interest in journalism by working for student media or as interns for media outlets.
Rambler Media Group Reporter of the Year, 2016-17 Description: Awarded to a strong Rambler Media Group staff reporter, who made the biggest contributions of the year with content and work ethic.
Experience The Rambler Media Group: bi-weekly print/online newspaper, TV Editor-in-Chief, 2017-now Content Producer, 2016-2017 I joined as a content producer writing multiple news and feature stories a week and taking photos, creating graphics, and laying out content on both web and print media. I also worked to promote content through social media, newspaper distribution, and hand delivery . I created newspaper front pages since joining staff, and after becoming editor-in-chief, I completely revamped the cover design. While taking on the duties of assigning content, editing content, coordinating with advertising and TV directors and advisors, maintaining the website and social media pages, leading general and editorial meetings, communicating with our printing company, and handling breaking news situations, I still continued to work as a content producer. I also have worked to build a working connection with the mass communication classes and the newspaper as well as mentoring and teaching not only the staff, but the incoming mass communication majors.
