GR A DUATIN G S TUDENT OF THE BACHELOR PROGRAM OF INDUSTRIAL DESIGN

ABOUT ME

Hi! My name is Hanna Rönntoft, I’m 25 years old and I’m from a town called Piteå in northern Sweden. My strengths as a designer are that I always try my best to understand the users experience of the product and I’m not afraid to do mock-ups of products to do user testing during the design process. I especially love to work together in a group and I get excited about seeing possible work flow improvements or services that could help people in their life.

SIT UAT IO N O F TO DAY

52 % of Sweden’s total area is forest

50 % of that forest is owned by private owners

A majority of that forest is inherited from family members

The new forest owners no longer live on the forest property and feel dis-attached

BRIEF

“How can we support the new forest owners in the best way possible? ”

USER PERSONA

In order to understand the need for this future user we decided to make up a user persona. These traits are based on interviews and statistics mixed with trend analysis.

This is Isabelle

LIFE SITUATION She decides to leave stressful city and move closer to nature

FOREST OWNERSHIP She inherits the forest from grandparents

WORK She can work from wherever through her computer

BACKGROUND PERSONALITY She likes the thought of shared ownership - decides to share it with her three cousins

She was raised in the city and dis-attached from nature and forestry

USER NEEDS

What would Isabelle want from a service/product?

PLANNING Easy way of seeing what and when things needs to be done

TASKS SHARING A way to share her tasks with her cousins

FOREST KNOWLEDGE

FOREST PROGRESSION

A way to get more knowledge about forestry

And more specific get information about her own forest and its progress

INTRODUCING.....

SORTING

WORK/FUN

TASKS Easily see when and what needs to be done

Learn how to do this task on the next page

G AT H ERIN G DATA Chosen task

1 Read the text or watch the movie to get information about the specific task

2 Chose to start this task now or schedual it for later

3 Get specific directions of where in the forest to go to make this measurement

4 When at the right spot: follow the step by step instructions on the screen

5 See statistics for your forest and how those are effecting your forest goals

FOREST KNOWLEDGE You just heard a bird and want to know what kind of bird that is

1 Search for the activity you would like to do

2 Read the text or watch the movie to get information about the specific task

3 Record the bird singing

4 Here you can see what type of bird it is. Read more about it and specifically why it likes to live in your forest
