Surprise the World, Myanmar !

What a mysterious country recently opened to the world that wishes to show all its wonders and beauties: Myanmar, a former british colony which became independent since 1948. After a long time of absence in the international scene, the promising nation of Aung San Suu Kyi is now ready to reveal a rich culture and history. Yangon and Bagan have a tremendous amount of pagodas and monasteries. It’ a truly a nation dedicated to the Buddhism: visit the Ananda Temple, with four huge standing Buddha images and numerous seated figures in niches around the galleried interior; visit the Myingaba Gu Byaukgyi Temple, noted for its ancient mural paintings under the protection of UNESCO; be amazed by the Shwedagon Pagoda, one of the world’s most spectacular religious monuments and the golden dome of Shwedagon Pagoda rises 98 meters above its base and is covered with 60 tons of pure gold; take a look at the Kuthodaw Pagoda, known for the world's biggest book, consisting of 729 marble slabs engraved with Buddhist scriptures; and of course, visit the Bogyoke Market (former Scott Market) and the Independent Monument in the Mahabandoola Park. Go and visit Mandalay with the Kyauktawgyi Pagoda also known as an Elephant house where the three white elephants are kept. Or discover Bago by stepping in the HtaukKyant War Cemetery maintained by the common wealth War Graves Commission, a symbol of respect between Myamar and the United Kingdom.
