Come take a whirl on The Hanover Theatre’s stage, or simply sit and watch the dancing while enjoying the lively swing beat of the Tom Nutile Band, one of the region’s most accomplished big bands. Opera Worcester opens its 2012-2013 Season with a special presentation of PAGLIACCI. This dramatic opera, written and composed by Ruggero Leoncavallo, is about fatal jealousies in a traveling troupe of actors and is inspired by a real-life story. As the traveling troupe begins its play, Canio (the clown) is consumed with jealousy because he has overheard his wife, Nedda, plan an assignation with a lover, Silvio, whose identity Canio doesn’t yet know. The play they perform turns into the murder of an unfaithful wife and her lover.
