In the nature world, all substances have its own condition. Observing the nature and artificial substance, it defines a visible or invisible limit in shape or shapeless. Through repeated experiments, I try to redefine a dynamic space by a flying installation which can release invisible wind energy when the power is switched on. By this basic concept and experiment, I start the further experiment of light material, opening size of skin and the scale of modeling in order to make human scale installation.
1
This project is a huge challenge for me to practice design because it is my first time use experimental result and conclusion to implement and accomplish an human scale architecture.
phase 01 :
What kinds of visible and invisible boundary in the world?
phase 02 :
How is the dynamic boundary happened?
From Preception to Construction
Preception Boundary The book "America building 2 : the environment forces that shape it," was published in 1972. It is about the boundary relationship between nature environment and preception. For example, atmosphere is asscoiate with preceptual system such as visual, auditory, tactile, olfactory and gustatory. This feeling invisibly exists a territory or a shalter which could be perceived by human beings. Hence, through sense, people can distinguish familiar or unfamiliar space or object in associated environment. Indirectly, the range of space would be defined. Environmental Boundary N at u re s u n l i g h t , w i n d o r organic material such as plants and trees can also be defined as limit of territory.
Energy Boundary eletronic energy, x-ray, thermogram highlight or climate condition all exists energy and can be visilualized in natural or artificial condition. For example, through x-ray, there is a unclear and blurred boundary between skin and bone. Anothers like eletronic energy would create thunder shape in atmosphere.

roof & ceiling
Traditional building boundary is defined by column, wall or partition and roof or ceiling.
Replace Function of Column, Wall and Ceiling However, I tried to find a method to replace traditional building definition. I used drone whicn can create strong airflow to support a space. In other words, airflow had to replace function of column in construction. weight loading

This experiment was to test the form variation between two exactly the same model stacking together. I tried many methods in testing such as simple stacking and stacking and folding. When I switched on four fans in different moment, the form would start changing. Therefore, through controlling fans, the shape of model can be controlled.
When setting a inflating machine (self-flying propeller), this model would inflate and follow rising. This result allowed me to have further experiment in next phase.

Human scale installation 2.0 : Second approach What is the formation in human scale installation2.0?
The result of installation 1.0 made sure that this drone had a b i l i t y to s u p p o r t t h e f l y i n g installation space. In second design approach, I designed more sophisticated by utilizing two skin layers. I constructed the installation 2.0 by twining pieces of skin which similar to twine bandage. When the drone was installed in right position, the testing was beginning. Compare to the first installation, because of two layers of skin, this installation performed more coated and therefore, airflow from drone can be enclosed in relative close space. As a result, this installation had obvious height variation.
This render is to stimulate a scenario when three or more installations compose together and create a temporary airflow space.

MACHINES : ART MUSEUM EXTENSION
Fourth year program, 2014
Site : Taipei Fine Art Museum, Taipei City, Taiwan Site Area : 650m2 Type : Indiviual / Academic Work Advisor : Chen Chen Cheng
Machine is similar to architecture. It could trigger many kinds of mechanism to solve problem and affect using experience. And this concept could be use in architecture design.
By researching and studying four different types of photographs, I transform its types into four unique machine spaces and each machine space include specific characteristic and experience. Also, this four machine spaces would be an extension architectural exhibition space in Taipei fine art museum. Therefore, this project aim to challenge a traditional way in which we hold about architecture. 9

Taipei fine art museum was composed by many rectangular tubes. Fortunately, this typology can be suit for my four machine spaces design. First, this four machines can be connected in linear shape and this shape is similar to original rectangular tube structure. Secondly, to connect new four machines combination, I design a bridge from original museum to new machine museum. Therefore, original exhibition area can be extended to outside machine museum.

Four museums, reflection, focus, vague and tension represent four different types of experiences and atmospheres. This experimental architecture might create a new exhibition approach for citizen to visit. Also, when citizens walk inside the machine museum tunnel, they can realize four photographers’ concept in photo projects. Therefore, this design not only connects the old museum and machine museum but also provide new sense in architecture.

SITE PLAN : COMBINATION MAKES CREATION
19
In Tamkang high school, this site exists different spatial relationship such as enclose space, courtyard space and linear space. Base on those relationship, different combination of arc components could be used by students to create diversity events or transform conventional events to novelty aspect. In other words, by constructing arc components, students have a chance to make their own unique amusement park during all kinds of activities, events and celebrations.

SCENARIO 01 : CHRISTMAS
As Christian school, Christmas is the biggest event in entire year. In this moment, students decorate the biggest pipe tree which is the heart of school. In addition, all kinds of Christmas events such as Christmas party, performance, singing in chorus and so on would be hold in different combination of arc components. Such arc components can be defined in diverse compositions which can be fit in diverse Christmas activities.
SCENARIO 02 : ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION
On March, the most important events of school is anniversary celebrations. Most of students would pay much time in holding this events and prepare distinct performance such as dancing, chorus, magic performance, short drama and so on in every school corner. Therefore, distinct combination of arc components could be assemble in stage and audience seating area. Also, this combination could efficiently correspond with novelty performance.
SCENARIO 03 : GRADUATION PROM
For all third year students in high school, graduation prom would be the most impressive events in their memory. By combination of arc components, students can creative distinct dancing pool corresponding different kinds of music and costumes. In addition, by stacking those arc components, it could create second floor for some relatively motionless activities such as beverage bar or snack bar.

Located in the silent area of Taipei city, good life quality and interaction become a significant issue in urban housing design. With sharing people’s life as design strategy, the whole project is like a dynamic platform which provide a place for tenants to interact with each others. It includes a single unit type which can create some terraces when this units stacking in zigzag. Hence, through connection with other units, the central of living will be provoked by this unique configuration.

TRANSFORMATION SCHOOL
Third year program, 2012
Site : Zhuwei, New Taipei City, Taiwan Site Area : 44,200m2 Type : Indiviual / Academic Work Advisor : Lin Chia Ju
Zhuwei junior high school has already elevated status of Zhuwei high school. However, because of growing students including junior and senior, original space is insufficient for accommodating students. Also, this high school will have contract with Taipei National University of the Arts. Therefore, it can imagine that the teaching type will have tremendous changing in the future. In this project, I tried to figure out architecture issue from the state of original building framework and the relationship between space and users. 24

STRATEGY & CONCEPT
In the configuration of the original building, the relationship between exterior and interior boundary seem as a strong limitation. By utilizing the double corridors, I tried to make blur in between classroom and one side of corridor so that the boundary is broken and original classroom space can be extended.
BOUNDARY : DOUBLE CORRIDORS
" d o u b l e co r r i d o r s " becomes a beginning of design strategy. 1. Abandon one side of corridors. 2. Extend origianl classroom and combine with it.

This extension library is in the center of school which acts a primary character for students to study and also activites. On the ground level, there is a smooth slope raising to second floor which is a main entrance of library and the bridge to original school building. On third floor, it is a typical library for researching and studying.

PARASITIC TEMPLES
Urban Research Project, 2016-2017
Temples become a part of urban scape in Taiwan. In Taiwan, temples are materializaton of religion. They are types of buildings which be seen as universal form in Taiwan society. Based on people's requirement of religion, small temples start to be disseminated in every urban corner of Taiwan. Therefore, this project is similar to doucumentary. This project significantly presents the difference

of Taiwan urban context and other moden city in the world. Through conventional field research and online map research, our team categorize 108 types of temples in systematic records. In addition, we selected 36 representative types of temples and compiled in a publication. To me, this book shows the most characteristic part among society, architecture and urban development in Taiwan.

Binjiang Tranditional Market
Riverside traditional wholesale market (the second fruit and vegetable wholesale market) Taipei City, was established in 1985. This market established the m o st a cco m p l i s h e d a n d a d va n ce d fruit and vegetable auction system in Taiwan, providing producers, suppliers, underwriters and consumers the best quality services. The establishment of fruit and vegetable supply center created the supply chain to fresh supermarkets, large consumer households and other daily needs of the fruits and vegetables. This is also a precedent for a modern vertical wholesale market, almost like a large parking structure.
There is a Fu De temple in the geometric center of the car ramp, for the people working in the market to worship, held a celebration. For example, a major festival in the market is "Zhongyuan Purdue". The famous seafood restaurant "Ichiro Japanese cuisine" is in this vertical wholesale market on the fifth floor, so people who drive to the restaurant will see the Fu De Temple, the wonder of the Taiwan market temples, from the slope of the circular looping process.

Old port areas across Europe are being gradually converted into high quality living areas. With wonderful scenery, waterfront area, close to the downtown area and its“original” features have made the old port area a fast development. Completed in 2005, the Frosilo Gemini is a silo renovation project on the waterfront of Brygge, Copenhagen. MVRDV's mission is to transform the renovation of the double silos built in the 1960s into apartment buildings. Silos were suspended in the 1990s due to the decline of the soybean processing industry (death cause). The limitations of the circular structure of the silo affect the design of the solution. Under the premise of maintaining its internal characteristics, it is very troublesome to cut a large hole in the circular concrete load-bearing wall. Therefore, the living unit of the apartment is designed to be hung outside the

silo instead of being filled inside the silo. Added around the perimeter of two original concrete cylinders, the external living unit can maximize the city view for each room. In total of eight-storey apartment, each living unit has its own private balcony, and the inside of the silo contains a public space and circulation space. It is housed in a hall with two spacious patios. The ground floor does not have the living unit of the apartment, but the core tube of the bare concrete. Unlike other warehouse renovation projects that have historical features, MVRDV sees silos as "futurist" house of the concrete exposed structure. Obviously, unlike the other“inwardly filled”silo modification cases in the world, this case is selected. because its "plug-in" makes the entire design more flexible.

Relationship between People & Water
This project aims to integrate Taipei water department headquarter and water reservoir. The relationship between building and underground water reser voir structure should be arranged efficiently. Also, because of tremendous site and floor area, the impact of urban context should be considered deliberately. Furthermore, how to renovate a historical building (water pump station) is also a consideration. Therefore, different aspect of issues have to be thoroughly integrated in this project.
