Bunty McDougall is a highly experienced occupational therapist who has worked in the field of learning difficulties for 30 years. She has specialised in the field of handwriting acquisition. Bunty is empowering therapists, teachers and parents to address fine motor and handwriting challenges through The Happy Handwriter’s® resources. These are based on the latest research in the field of fine motor skills, pre-handwriting and handwriting acquisition. She is a part-time lecturer at UCT and has authored The Wall®, a text book for occupational therapy students on learning difficulties in children. Bunty is married to Mike and they have a son and daughter.
Lourdes Bruwer has been in paediatric private practice since 2005. After working under esteemed therapists she took over a well established OT practice and has had the privilege of supervising younger therapists working with her since then. Her keen interest in sensory integration led her to complete this post graduate course in 2006 and has been influencing her work ever since. She co-authored the Groovy Adventurers book and the Groovy Adventurers Program (GAP groups) and continues to train moms in the facilitation of these sensory-motor stimulation groups around the country. Lourdes also collaborates with My Learning Baby, an online app for parents wanting to stimulate their babies and toddlers.
