Puffco Peak'D

What's Up Munkey Fam and this issue is a momentous occasion because it's the 7/10 edition! For those who don't know, 710 is the celebration of everything concentrates. On that day every dabber will be dabbing concentrates of varying sizes and crosses. I'm more of a flower person but I would never turn down a dab if offered one. In film and media concentrates are portrayed as something dangerous and something your average cannabis user wouldn't consider using at all. How many videos on Youtube have you seen of people either passing out from taking too big of a dab or someone trying to make concentrates in their home and blowing themselves up to high heaven? My friends I have a Youtube series that combines dabs, comedy, and laughing to insane stories from the host and his guest. The series I'm speaking of is called Peak'd hosted by comedian Frank Castillo and co-hosted by Weed Wizard JP. Frank is a Latinx comedian based in Los Angeles and is known for winning the show Roast Battle on Comedy Central hosted by Jeff Ross. As of the writing of this article, the show just released its 13th episode with A$AP P as the latest guest. The premise of the show is that Frank and his guest dab on fire concentrates using Puffco Peaks, one of, if not the premiere electronic dabbing device on the market for three rounds at varying degrees. Unlike other videos from the past of people dabbing using red hot titanium nails, dabbing on mud colored concentrates.

In complete contrast, JP with his Hulk Hogan mustache is a cannabis encyclopedia. He breaks down each dab like a cannabis sommelier discussing the terpene profile, the lineage of the concentrate, down to the flavors that Frank and his guest should be tasting while dabbing meanwhile the guest is normally dumbfounded at the speed at which JP speaks about the concentrate for that round. By being located in Los Angeles and Frank's growing relationships within the California cannabis community the selection of concentrates would have any dabber green with envy. In addition to the knowledge, after each dab, JP asks Frank and the guest ridiculous questions.

One episode of the show I recommend that gives the viewer the whole experience is episode six with Ted, one of the owners of AlienLabs. In this interview, Frank shows both his comedic chops and his great interview skills. One topic they touch on is the belief that a perfect temp dab will allow the smoker to get the full effects of the concentrate. Ted on the other hand has the belief that smoke volume is more important. As a flower smoker, I understand what he means but I know several of our readers will die on the hill that perfect temp is better. The part of this show I love is the questions that JP asks both host and guest. For example the question "Where or what is the best place or situation to get caught smoking weed?" This question then turns into conversations about either getting people high for the first time or getting caught by someone who does smoke but you didn't know.

In conclusion, I think "Peak'd" is a perfect show to watch while dabbing by yourself or with the homies. The few times I've seen news stories or old Youtube videos about concentrates it was always in a bad light. Thankfully with more information about concentrates and light-hearted shows like Peak'd the stigma of dabs has come down. So if this is your first year celebrating 710 go slow and don't try to keep up with the more grizzled vets. To those vets of dabbing have fun and maybe help someone burst their dabbing cherry while not killing them with a red hot nail or ninja dabs.
