M Y L I F E I N A SNOW GLOBE Townsend Butcher
If I lived in a snow globe, I would build an igloo every day! It would be so cool! I would feel the wind blowing in my face and see the snow falling. I would feel the crunchy snow, just like popcorn. I would stay outside until I was cold as a popsicle. I might smell pine trees and taste ice on my tongue. After I finished building my igloo, I would shout, “Yay, I finished!” At night, I would hope that the igloo would not fall down. The next morning, I would run to my window and check if it did fall. If it did, I would build it again.

Look out! Pfff! The snowball fight begins. I see big sparkly snowballs flying everywhere. I make a ball, as fast as lightning. Whack! Ouch! It hits Hudson. I taste my wet scarf in my mouth as the war gets extreme. We fire all of our snowballs. We have one more person to hit, and one snowball left. We think, “How do we hit him?” I think we should creep up, like ninjas attacking and ambushing. We secretly sneak out and get really close. When Hudson is ready to fire… we jump up and fire. We win!

THE WATERSLIDE Chloe Neal
“Wait for me!” I shouted as I ran into the water park. I looked around, left to right, and then I saw it: a really big, tall water slide! It seemed to have one hundred steps to the tippy top. Meanwhile, my uncle said he was going to take my brother and my cousin to the other side of the park.
“Let’s go!” Julian, my brother, screamed.
My uncle asked what my sister, Sienna, and I wanted to do. We decided we were going to go on the big water slide. Sienna and I walked to the slide. There was a very long line. The line went from the bottom of the slide, all the way to the top of it. The wait felt like forever. Eventually, I was first in line. I was so scared that I was shivering.
Soon, the green light came on. That meant it was time to go! The water pushed me down the slide. I was shaking like I was in the middle of an earthquake, and I was and freezing colder than an iceberg. The force of the water pushed me right to left, then in a big spiral to the bottom. I slid into the water. Splash! I popped out of the water and thought to myself, I did it! I want to do that again!

THE LOCKET Lily Browne
I burst out of the bed and breakfast quickly. I was filled with excitement and glee! My cousins were coming over, and they were bringing a special locket. The locket belonged to Lillie, my great-greatgrandpa’s sister. My great-great-grandpa sent it to her when he was fighting against the Japanese in Hawaii. Lillie wore it until she passed away, and my cousins had it since then.
I was going to get the locket as my own! I felt like a little kid getting a puppy for Christmas. It was very old and precious. Soon, my cousin Jo Ann arrived.
I asked Jo Ann many questions. “Where is Dianne?” “What does Dianne’s car look like?”
“What color is her hair?” It was like I was a robot and I could only ask questions about Dianne.
Jo Ann said, “She has a gold SUV and blonde hair.”
I suddenly saw a car pull up. It was a gold SUV, but I still had to see her face. Then I saw a little lady with blonde hair. I said excitedly, “That’s Dianne!” She walked over with a big smile on her face. Jo Ann slowly brought out this shiny gold box.
I kept thinking, Oh my gosh, oh my gosh! Jo Ann gently pulled out the prettiest thing ever. It was a glowing gold circle. I opened it very slowly. Inside, there was a picture of my great-great-grandpa climbing a coconut tree!
I said, “Thank you! I love it!”
Jo Ann and Dianne said, “You’re welcome!”
My mom finally said, “Can I take a picture?”
I said, “Sure!” So my mom took the picture.
SPAIN Collins Nelligan
I realized the hotel’s floor is so loud in Spain. Skipping, running, and even walking is so loud on this floor. We did not know how loud we were. Our friends were staying in Spain with us. My family was with me, of course. I had never been to Spain before, so I was elated. I love going to new hotels because I feel inspired by new places. This was the life!
If we opened a window, a cool breeze would flow through the hotel room. It was a beautiful sight out the window. Houses, apartments, buildings—there is shelter everywhere! There was a big lake with a little arch on top. There was another window that I could barely see out of, but I saw a bunch of other buildings that were still part of the hotel.
We got settled into rooms and started to unpack. When we were finished, we heard a crazy noise coming from below us. Poke! Poke! We looked out a window (the one I could barely see out) and saw a lady poking a broom on her ceiling. Her ceiling was right under our floor! She did this for a long time. It really hurt my ears. She was probably really mad at us because she thought we were stomping, but we were really just walking!
A few minutes later, she came up to our hotel room. She was furious and frowning.
“You are insanely loud! Calm down and just walk!” she exclaimed. I wondered why she would bring a broom to Spain anyway. It is really no use! Well, a broom is useful if you are going to bang it on the ceiling! My dad stepped up to be the one to have a conversation with her.
The rest of the trip was okay, but that small moment was so funny! The rest of the time we were in Spain, we attempted to be much quieter. I thought we might see her again. I wished the people who built this hotel would have made the floor quieter when people walked on it. Spain was an amazing place. I don’t want this story to discourage you from going there!
