Ingredients 2 cups flour
150g butter
½ tsp baking soda
1 egg, beaten
1 Tbsp Gregg’s Ground Ginger
½ cup Chelsea Icing Sugar
1 cup (220g) firmly packed Chelsea Soft Brown Sugar or Chelsea Dark Cane Sugar
Food colouring and lollies to decorate
To Make Preheat oven to 180°C. Line 2 baking trays with baking paper. Sift flour, baking soda and ground ginger together and place in a bowl or food processor. Add Chelsea Soft Brown Sugar or Dark Cane Sugar. Add butter and rub in with fingertips or pulse in food processor until resembles fine breadcrumbs. Add egg and stir, or pulse to mix. If the dough is too sticky, add a little more flour to the mix and wrap in cling wrap. Refrigerate for 30 minutes. Roll out on lightly floured surface or between 2 sheets of baking paper until 5mm thick. Using cookie cutters, cut shapes and place on tray. Form leftover dough into a ball and re-roll and repeat cutting out until all the dough is used up. Bake gingerbread men for 8-10 minutes or until cooked and golden. Remove from oven and cool on baking rack. Make icing by adding a few drops of food colouring and 11⁄2 tsp water to the icing sugar. Drop a small amount under each spot where you wish to place a lolly.

Tips to keep your Home safe this Christmas
01. Don’t advertise your home to burglars on social media:
03. Be careful when you throw away your old gift packaging:
04. Keep your curtains, drapes and window blinds closed at night:
Posting up on any social media when your home is going to be empty is a “no-no” as this tells burglars the house is unattended. Avoid uploading photos of any Christmas gifts that you have bought as it gives thieves a catalogue of your shopping, and which houses to visit, just by going onto your Facebook page.
When we get our rubbish collected over Christmas and New Year, the dates and times often change.
This not only makes your home feel cosy but also ensures that any valuable items are kept out of sight. Plug in some timers and place them around your home to give the illusion of someone at home when you’re out.
02. Festive lighting: You may think that running a few lights outside is perfectly safe, and it is, providing you don’t feed extension cables through partially opened windows. Criminals know to look out for this!
Check with your local authority before the holidays start when your refuse will be collected and avoid putting your gift packaging out until just before being collected. Packaging left out early gives unwanted visitors (thieves) information about the expensive gifts you received at Christmas that may be found in your home.
GOLD CHRISTMAS
05. Don’t leave a message on your answer phone to say you’re away for the Christmas holidays: This is ideal for a burglar as they know that no-one will be in the house for quite some time and means they have plenty of time to ransack your home. 06. Check your windows and locks for weak spots: Installing a few deadbolts and new window hinges isn’t too expensive and could increase the security of your home.
Twas the night before Christmas and..

ADVANTAGES OF SELLING YOUR HOME DURING THE HOLIDAYS
GOLD TIPS
The Tip:
Thanks to reduced competition, motivated buyers, and annual holidays, you can sell your home faster during the holiday season. If your home is for sale now, you’re actually in a great position to sell your home faster by taking advantage of the unique characteristics of the holiday selling season. 1. Less Competition You’re not the only homeowner who’s considered taking your home off the market during the holidays– most don’t want the hassle. Most new sellers will decide to wait until the first of the year to put their homes up for sale also. That’s great news for you because you won’t have to compete with dozens of other homes, just like yours to get buyers’ attention. Reduced inventory means more buyers checking out your home, either online or in person. Keep their attention by making sure your home is priced to sell and that your home is in “show” condition at all times.
2. Motivated Buyers
Anyone who takes time out of their busy holiday schedule to shop for a new home is serious about buying now. Perhaps they are relocating to start a new job in the New Year,. or maybe they’ve been looking for months and just haven’t found that perfect home yet. Whatever their reason, make it easy for these folks to get a good look at your home by staying flexible with your showing times, and be open to negotiating contract terms that work with their schedules.
3. Your Home Looks Great Emotion plays a huge role in which home a buyer purchases, and you can capitalize on that by making your home inviting and cheery during showings. Tasteful decorations and a minimum of clutter will allow buyers to see their own families celebrating the holidays in your home.
