This is at my country house. Last summer the Yamatoliving Team came to build my pool. I’m so happy cause it’s my dream radius, size, coping and shape… so now I can get old and skate as long as my body allows me to.

Pete was filming a line for Bon Voyage during a trip on the East Coast, he spotted this car plate which was cool… we made a board out this.

Brophy with Lucas his double team mate for Fourstar and Cliché... somewhere on the Sake and Destroy tour in Japan.

Javier Mendizabal has been on the team since day one. French Fred has been doing great stuff for a very long time too. They are both very creative and creativity is the essence of skateboarding.

A long time ago Chet Childress came to Lyon on a Vans Tour, I was showing them around, we had a good time. A few years back we celebrated our 15 year anniversary with art shows and a road trip to Spain from Lyon, very good time again… and last Summer, I invited Chet to be our Gypsy tour guest, again and again, best time ever!

In the 90’s, Gonz lived in Lyon for one year. Every 2 or 3 years he comes back for a quick visit. This time we went to a restaurant and met this famous french artist Robert Combas. Wild moments of life followed, with Mark every minute of life is a lot of fun!

Enjoi stayed at the cliché office in Lyon to film for Oververt last Spring. It was cool to show them around and skate with Cairo & Jimmy . Flo is an Enjoi fan too, so even better.

If you want something done right, do it yourself. Cliché’s unholy trinity—Jérémie Daclin, Eric Frenay, and Al Boglio—gear up for a session at Jérémie’s brand new DIY bowl in the woods. Lyon, France. Cliché Skateboards sits down for Kingpin Magazine’s coveted Pearls of Wisdom column and drops some knowledge. Plant your roots in many places: Still based out of our offices in our native hometown of Lyon, France—we have also put roots down in the birthplace and cultural epicenter of skateboarding that is Los Angeles. When we started our trip back in 1997, our goal was to shift the California centric model to a global one—to change a one-way street into a multi-lane superhighway. Today, we are living that change. Speak as many languages as possible: Jérémie Daclin originally chose the name Cliché because it worked in both English and French. Launched in 2002, Kingpin Magazine became the first true pan-European and multilingual skateboard magazine. Releasing every issue in French, Spanish, English, and German. Kingpin helped unify the European skate scene

and push the larger worldwide reach of the pastime; coming as close to mirroring the guiding principles of Cliché as anything else out there.

three Americans (Joey, Pete Eldridge, and Espinoza), two Australians (Brophy and Sammy Winter), a Spaniard (Javier Mendizabal), and a Thai German (Lem Villemin).

You don’t need money to be happy: In 2003, we decided to hit the road for a couple of weeks—skateboarding with our friends, sleeping on beaches, and living off only 10 Euros ($13) a day—and the first Gypsy Tour was born. In March of 2015, our 7th full-length video, Gypsylife will continue the Gypsy tradition while following in the video-graphic footsteps of Europa (’00), Bon Appetit (’03), Freedom Fries (’04), Hello Jojo! (’06), Clé (’08), and Bon Voyage (’13).

Share the good times with good friends: Nothing worth doing is worth doing alone. We have always tried to surround ourselves not only with one of the most diverse teams—but have also created partnerships and collaborations with our favorite pros, artists, photographers, shops, companies, and videographers from every walk of the industry. From HUF to the Gonz, Sean Cliver to Marc McKee, Adidas to Nike, and Chet Childress to Jon Horner—the more the merrier has always been our credo.

Strength lies in differences, not in similarities: At Cliché, we always wanted to have a team as diverse as we wanted skateboarding to be. Today, our pro team consists of Frenchmen (Lucas, JB, and Flo Mirtain),

man (beside Daclin and creative director Eric Frenay)—Al Boglio first stepped on a skateboard in New Caledonia, in the south Pacific—before moving to Melbourne, Australia, riding for Prime Skateboards, Independent, then launching Time Skateboards—before moving to Lyon in 2001 to run Cliché, and now living in Venice Beach, CA. Keep it moving. Don’t sweat the small stuff: We started Cliché because we fell in love with skateboarding and wanted to give something back. We also wanted create a platform where skateboarders from around the world could be heard as loudly as the ones in California. All the same, none of that shit would matter if we didn’t still love every minute of it. Hop on a train, buy a plane ticket to anywhere, or just grab your board and head out the door—the world is the biggest skatepark and the only rule is to have f—king fun.

AFTER 2 PARTS IN 411, A SHARED PART IN THE EMERICA VIDEO YELLOW AND HIS DEBUT PART IN THRILL OF IT ALL, ADRIAN TURNED PRO IN 1997. ADRIAN’S ANTI-SOCIAL APPROACH TO SKATEBOARDING WAS INFLUENTIAL TO THE NO-NONSENSE NATURE OF THE BRAND. HIS TRICK SELECTION AND UNIQUE SKATE STYLE TO SOUNDS OF CLASSIC HEAVY METAL BALLADS ALSO HELPED DEFINE THE IDENTITY OF THE BRAND FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS.
