It’s so nice to be able to connect with you all again. In this Holiday Program I am going to introduce you to one of my very best friends. Can you guess who it is? I’ll give you a clue: he is small, hairy and walks on fo ur legs. He also has the waggiest tail of anyone on ou r street and it makes me so happy to see him every sin gle time. Do you have a little friend in your ho me who makes you feel happy? Perhaps a dog or a ca t? Or even a baby brother who might chew on your toys , like Billie’s brother does? We love to hear from you, so send us in a photo or a drawing of your favourite animal. It might not be a pet - maybe just an animal you especially like. Or even an invented animal? That would be super-dooper fun! See you again soon! Lots of love,

Sally

If your mixture looks a little dry, you can add a splash of soy milk (remember, dogs have sensitive tummies and they can’t have cow’s milk).

When they’re finished, you can decorate with some dog-friendly treats like banana, peanut butter, carrot, apple slices, or their usual dog biscuits.

Meet

Y L L I B You know Billie B Brown, but do you know Billy the dog? He’s Sally’s very special writing buddy! Here’s a few fun things about Billy (he might be the cutest pet EVER).

Dog. This is Billy the

As you can see, he came to live with me when he w as very little. Too little to even climb up onto the couch!

We were a bit nervous to introduce him to my partner’s big dog, Banjo. But it was love at first sight. Now they do everything together. Even getting up to mischief!

Billy’s best friend after Banjo is his toy meerkat. He ta kes it everywhere! (I think I come th ird because I mainly just sit aro und doing things like reading and w riting. But we do go to the park once a day!)

I can’t imagine my life without my little buddy Billy now. Do you have a little furry friend in your life, too? Or perhaps a feathered friend, a scaly friend or even a friend that can take you for rides on their back?

We’d love to hear about any animals you share your life with. Life is much better with animals, don’t you think?

GREETING A DOG Tip #2

To invite the dog over, turn your side to them, pat your leg and encourage them to come over to you. If the dog doesn’t approach or moves away, they might just want to be left alone. You can wave goodbye and let them continue on their walk!

Tip # 4

If the dog does happily come over, then gently give them a tickle under the chin – slowly, from underneath their face, not over the top. Dogs see the world differently to us, and they can get scared if you bend over to greet them or pat them on top of the head.
