How many of you like dressing-up? I used to love dressing-up when I was little. Sometimes my sisters an d I would even put on plays to entertain our parents, dressed up in homemade costumes. I bet they were very funny! But did you know that some people ma ke costumes and fancy hats for a job? How fun would that be? In this episode we get to meet my neighbou r, Will, whose job it is to make costumes and very fancy hats. Maybe you might like to make your ow n fancy hat this week from things you can find around the house, just like Billie and Jack? An empty ice-cre am container is a very good start! See you next week! Lots of love,

My teachers taught us about being original, inventive and to learn from history. My classmates and I studied masterpieces created by other artists, and then tried come up with something original ourselves. Once, we got to choose our own homework so I chose to draw a comic, just like I used to make when I was a kid! This project was so fun, and I even won awards for it!

After I graduated, I kept drawing more comics. Once I decided that I definitely wanted my job to be an illustrator, I put together a portfolio – like a big photo album of my illustrations – and sent it out to over fifty book publishers in New Zealand and Australia. After a long time, two publishers came back to me and offered me some illustrating jobs. One of those publishers was Hardie Grant Egmont, asking me to illustrate a chapter book series about a bold, brilliant and bubby girl – called Billie B Brown! CLICK WATCH TTO H VIDEO! E

I have loved drawing since I was little – drawing has always been my favourite hobby and it still is! I would draw comics to tell stories. I was too shy to show them to my parents or friends, and shared them only with my sister. I didn’t know that you could be an illustrator for a job – it was just fun for me. I always thought that when I was old, I would live deep in the woods with lots of cats and draw all day!

• Even though I love other subjects like science and maths, I always kept drawing. • I eventually grew the courage to share my work not just with my sister, but also with my parents! Their encouragement helped me decide to study art at university. • I listened carefully to my teachers, and researched lots of other artists from history to figure out my own style. • I practiced lots and lots to improve my skills. • I always kept trying, and having fun!

INGREDIENTS 680 grams veggies (Pick your favourites! I like zucchini, sweet potato and corn.) 1

Don’t for get to wash you r dishes when you ’re done!

No matter what she wants to cook, Billie always asks a grown-up if it’s okay before she starts. And she always, always asks for help when she’s using the stove or oven. You should do that, too!

4.

1 egg /2 cup grated cheese

2 tablespoons olive oil

6.

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees and line an oven tray with non-stick baking paper.

7.

Add the cheese, flour, garlic and oil into the bowl and combine.

Grate vegetables.

Remove excess moisture of zucchini by placing grated zucchini in a clean tea towel, scrunching it together and squeezing until towel is damp. Repeat with the sweet potato - place it in a clean towel and squeeze out the moisture.

5.

Whisk the egg in large bowl.

1 1/2 cup all-purpose flour (or chickpea flour for gluten-free) 1 clove minced garlic or 1 teaspoon crushed garlic

Add the veggies to the bowl and mix together.

Recipe published with permission from VicHealth.

8.

Roll mixture into balls and flatten down the top. Each fritter should measure approximately 7cm wide. Place onto baking tray lined with baking paper.

O R D N DR SA O I A M E D CEO of VicHealth! Did you always want to be a doctor? I did. I had a toy doctor's kit even as a very young child. I loved the idea of helping others, and was always fascinated by science.

What was your favourite movie? It would have to be The Lion King. I still remember going to

see it at the Rosebud cinema in the summer holidays of 1994. The music was incredible, and the animation seemed so advanced back then! I still find myself humming the songs today.

What does the CEO of VicHealth do? What’s your favourite thing about your job? Leading VicHealth and our wonderful team of health promoters, I get to work with communities across our State to improve health of all Victorians. Our focus is on keeping people well, for longer. One of my favourite things to do is to spend a day visiting communities and partners in regional Victoria. Exploring small towns and regional centres, I am always welcomed so warmly and get to see first hand the difference our support can make when combined with the hard work and dedication of local partners and community groups.

What is your favourite m emory?

It would have to be passata da y at our family's farm, with the entire Demaio clan (a nd a few welcome extras) turning the annual harv est of tomatoes into the most delicious bottles of sauce for the year ahead. Across four generations, ever yone would have a role. The day would end with aroun d four-hundred bottles, a big long table filled with tir ed but happy cooks and of course a generous plate of fresh pasta.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar when I was very young, and Jeannie Baker's Where the Forest Meets the Sea when I was a littler older. It's no wonder I grew up to love both good food, and nature.
