First stage of Junior Series The three Juniores athletes of Merida Italia Team have took part in the first European race of the UCI Junior Series 2016 held in Rivera, a locations near Lugano (Switzerland).
More than 160 athletes from 13 countries wereenrolled in the new international competition that replaced the UCI Juniores World Cup, including of course the best Italian Juniores atlethes. An important race that riders of Merida Italia Team have waited anxiously, but for which they probably were not been prepared in the best way. Since the start loop it was clear that the race would be difficult for everyone, forced to recover in the first round. Jakob Dorigoni (37th) was the best of the Italian until a flat tire in the second lap that has put him back beyond the fortieth position. A gap too heavy to recover. Vanni Frassoni (82th) was instead fighting around the fiftieth position when he suffered the chain break, and from that moment for Him the race was not recoverable. Similar story for Lorenzo Calloni (106th), which despite being already rather lingered has also had to deal with a flate tire in an area away from the pits during half race. It's better focus the attention on next Sunday's date of Nalles (BZ, Italy) for the 3rd round of Internazionali d'Italia Series.
