Merida Italia Team, next stop: Hafjell!
Only a few days are missing to the beginning of the 2014 World Championships that will be held next week in Hafjell, Norway, with many riders of Merida Italia Team.
The staff can indeed express its satisfaction with the choices of "Hubi" Pallhuber, manager of the Italian National Team, who has released the names of those who will represent Italy at the World Championships. Among them are included Gioele Bertolini, Lorenzo Samparisi and Stefano Valdrighi as regards the category U23, and Alessandro Naspi for the Juniores. Martin Loo will also be in Norway to represent Estonia. Martin has faced in recent weeks the World Cup in America, from Mont Sainte Anne in Canada to Windham, USA, finishing in 35th place. A result of "without infamy and without
praise", which reflects the difficult season faced by the Estonian Champion, victim of a serious injury in spring. The other U23 guys and the Italian Champion Alessandro Naspi have stayed in Livigno, to address a training camp with the National Team to prepare the last races. Finished the stage in Livigno, appointment to Meribel in France for the final round of the UCI MTB World Cup for the Under23 that have closed between the top 30 and the top 50. Now all is focused to Norway, where the stakes is high: a big good luck from the staff of Merida Italia Team to its athletes, who will be able to assert themselves on the Norwegian track. Lastly some words for Mattia Setti, the only athlete of the Team excluded from the National Team. For him the 'light blue appointment' is postponed: the great growth that has shown in the second part of the season projects him directly into 2015's season, when the convening of the National Team will be more concrete.
