Montichiari HC The event in Montichiari (BS) ended the Internazionali d'Italia Series 2017, but was also valid as stage of the UCI Junior Series, and over 1000 participants from around the world attended the event.
The excellent organization of the event allowed the Team and the Staff to enjoy a perfect race weekend, despite none of the Team's athletes was more in the fight for the final victory of the Internazionali d'Italia Series. Among the Juniores Jakob Dorigoni's race was very good, despite the starting bib (99), which could certainly not allow the athlete to fight for the top positions. Jakob has raced well, recovering positions constantly but never risking of jeopardizing the race. Eventually his 20th final position does not satisfy, but at least allows Him to rake a few UCI points that will allow Him in the future to start with a lower race number. His teammates did not shine, and they were also penalized by much higher race numbers and by some mechanical problems. Vanni Frassoni was unfortunately forced to retire another time, while Lorenzo Calloni has had to deal with a flat tire and a nagging illness that will force Him to stay under medical observation in the coming days. Giulia Lazzari has instead led a good race among women Junior (41th), while the Youth Martina Bassi and Riccardo Simoni have closed their race respectively in 6th and 44th position.
