Victory between the U23 at the Internazionali d’Italia Series 2015 At Courmayeur was held the last round of Internazionali d'Italia Series 2015, and has been an organizational success. In front of the Mont Blanc, surrounded by a beautiful landscape, the organizers have set up a very good track, which according to the athletes, it has nothing to envy to the most beautiful of the series.
The race day for the youth of Merida Italia Team began at 10:00 am, in which Lorenzo and Giulia Lazzari Calloni have started a few minutes one from the other. Lorenzo appeared in a better condition compared to the previous races, and was able to pull off an excellent race conduction since from the first moments, finishing in 5th place. Giulia has instead appeared less bright, especially on the climbs, but has managed to defend herself in the fastest parts of the track, finishing in 8th place. After the youngsters it was the turn of Vanni Frassoni among the Juniores, very smart in the initial phases, by passing a lot of riders during the start loop, and remaining with the first until the beginning of second lap. In the middle part of the race the guy paid a little the
effort, committing some mistakes and driving not so smooth as the first lap, then recovering the balance in the end, up to grab a 12th place overall, more than satisfactory. The open race was scheduled in the afternoon, with involved the Under 23 of the Team, except for Alessandro Naspi, actually busy due to high school exams. The start was at 3:00 pm, and has seen the holeshot of an unknow South African athlete, immediately crashed in the first corner of the start loop, causing the main crash of the group, which has unfortunately affected the race of many athletes, including someone of Merida Italia Team. Mainly was not a fought race. All the athletes involved have imposed their pace, without giving to the crowds spectacular duels. The Under23 of Merida Italia Team have managed well this situation, however running smooth and smart even though they are currently engaged in a period of intense training, concluding the race with the following results: Gioele Bertolini 12th (2nd UN23), Stefano Valdrighi 14th (4th UN23), Mattia Setti 16th (5th UN23). DNF for Lorenzo Samparisi. Gioele Bertolini has won the overall rank for the Under23 category of Internazionali d'Italia Series 2015, beating the opponent of Team Bianchi Jan Vastl, thanks to the consistency of his performances. The third place went to Stefano Valdrighi and the fourth to Mattia Setti, thanks to the double points awarded in the last stage of the circuit.
