An excellent race for the riders of Merida Italia Team at the World Cup of Lenzerheide The athletes of Merida Italia Team were deployed in the third round of the World Cup after a period of high altitude training, obtaining everyone an high level performance among the best in the World field, thus confirming the domination in the category nationwide shown in the first part of the season.
All the athletes of Merida Italia Team have led an high level race in Lenzerheide, despite during the previous World Cup races of the season for one reason or another, nobody of the Team was able to show his potential, except for Gioele Bertolini. Gioele was the best among the members of the team (13th) at the finish line, beating right there his mate Stefano Valdrighi (14th), who appeared to be the most fit, however able to achieve that position by starting in mid-deployment. Very nice performance also achieved by Mattia Setti (23th), who appeared in good shape, despite a crash. Alessandro Naspi (63th) has started another time from the back of the grid, also unfortunately having to deal with a flat tire. After the race the guy was still satisfied by his physical condition, after being away from racing for about a month due to the high school exam.
The only regret of the trip was the withdrawal of Lorenzo Samparisi at about half of the race, who in the early laps was tripped best of all mates and clocked good times. Now the concentration of all the athletes and staff is directed at the Italian Championships, then ..... may the best win!
