10TH ANNUAL HEALTHY LIVING FESTIVAL Thursday, July 18 8:00AM-2:00PM HASC Join us for an event at the beautiful Oakland Zoo with more than 2000 seniors and those who love them. Get information on health, buy fresh vegetables at the Farmers Market and enjoy a delicious healthy lunch. Transportation provided by Alameda County for $3.00. Featured Artists Kenneth Aitken Senior Center David Steffes’s works will be on display in mid July. David will be showcasing his travel photography from a recent trip to Cambodia. Each photograph has a special memory and a story to tell. David will be holding his Artist Talk on July 23rd at 10:30am, join us to learn more. Hayward Senior Center Michael Wallace’s works are on display through July 10th. “A photographer must transcend the medium for a photograph to attain the level of Art, that is my goal.” Michael’s hope is that the viewer of his photographs will look at the images and recognize what they might see every day, but see them in a new way. Van Trips and Motor Coach Tours Procedures and Refund Policies: Van Trip Procedures: No one, including Senior Center Supporters, are allowed to sign up before the 1st business day of the month that the Expanding Horizons is released. Participants will be able to sign up for only one trip per Center during the first two weeks of the Expanding Horizons release. Put your name and phone number on the waiting list for other trips in which you are interested in and we will call you after the first two weeks if we have an opening. You must sign up for your desired trip from the Center that the van departs. Non-residents of the Hayward Area Recreation and Park District must pay an additional non-resident fee of $5.00 per day trip. Van Trip Refund Procedures: No refunds will be issued if less than 24 hours of notification is received for the day trips. All Van Trip cancellations are subject to a $5.00 service charge and may take up to 21 days to process. In cases, where the Senior Center purchases admission tickets on your behalf, and the ticket company has a no refund policy, we will be unable to issue a refund to you. Motor Coach Refund Procedures: Refunds will be issued only upon the Senior Centers cancellation of a trip or a specific cancellation policy by the Tour Company is in place. If a participant cancels within ten (10) business days of a trip, it will be the responsibility of the said participant to find a replacement or forfeit the refund. All motor coach cancellations made by participants are subject to a $5.00 service charge. Non-residents of the Hayward Area Recreation and Park District must pay an additional non-resident fee of $10.00 per coach trip. It is the policy of American Stage Tours to wait no longer than 15 minutes. If a participant is late and the bus has left it is the responsibility of the trip participant to make their own arrangements for the return trip home and it will be at their own cost.
