Mercearia Grocer to Debut in Mah Sing’s Southville City, Bangi
The neighbourhood grocer is set to occupy 7 lots spanning across 9,255sqft at Savanna Boulevard Shops, Mah Sing’s largest township development in Klang Valley.
A family-run operation, the Mercearia brand is operated by MAHSA Grocers Sdn Bhd and built upon a heritage of providing friendly service to its customers by offering healthy, fresh and top quality food. The company has two stores in Petaling Jaya and Kota Kemuning. Apart from grocery items its stores also offer a range of beauty care products, general household merchandise and stationary whilst operating an in house café that provides gourmet beverages, pastries and sandwiches. QUALITY LIVING EXPERIENCE Mah Sing’s Chief Executive Officer, eading property developer, Mah Sing Group Berhad will soon open its doors to Mercearia Grocer, a brand widely known as a trusted neighbourhood grocer by the first quarter of 2020 (Q1 2020) at Savanna Boulevard Shops in Southville City, Bangi.
Mah Sing’s Chief Operating Officer, Benjamin Ong said, the opening of Mercearia Grocer marks a new milestone for Southville City, as this is the first gourmet grocer that will be opened in the township. “We are confident that Mercearia Grocer’s opening in Southville City will provide great convenience to the owners and tenants on the back of its expertise and track record of providing optimum service to customers. This, in turn, will promote more footfall and increase the occupancy of our retail outlets.”
He added that Mah Sing has identified and is engaging businesses that will complement the grocer’s overall concept. This includes cafes, family restaurants, educational and edutainment centres, health and fitness services, among others. “Presently, we have been receiving encouraging feedback from interested prospects and will be announcing their brands soon,” he stated.
Mercearia’s Chairman Tan Sri Dr Mohamed Haniffa Abdullah said that the company’s primary responsibility is to operate the best supermarket possible. “We are constantly looking out for the best locations to open our stores. Southville City is an ideal location given its strategic location as it straddles around matured neighbourhoods with large population growths. We intend to open more outlets in the future.” L

The recent introduction of Merceria Grocer is one of the many new things lined-up for Southville City.”
Southville City sits on 428 acres of freehold land and has undertaken robust development over the past few years, following the completion of Avens Residence and the on-going VP for the Savanna Executive Suites. Wedding Bells More than 700 guests, family members, business associates and friends of MRCA Past President, Datuk Seri Nelson Kwok (JP) and his wife Datin Seri Carol Ooi, attended the grand wedding reception of their son Kwok Han Cheng and his bride Choong Pei Fun, daughter of Mr Cheong Sau Chan and his wife Kok Chi Len. The event was held at the Grand Ballroom of Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur in November.

Datuk Seri Nelson, in his speech, thanked all the invited guest, some of whom had come from overseas, for gracing the event. He also mentioned that he would be taking a back seat from his business allowing his son to take charge of the company which he built 35 years ago.
