No one really knows when the first motorcycle was customised. But it probably wasn’t long after the first Harley® motorcycle rolled out of a wooden shed that riders started personalising their motorcycles. The idea really took off after WWII, when soldiers returned home, started riding clubs and began chopping parts off their bikes to make them lighter and faster, igniting the Bobber age of the 1940s and ‘50s . That paved the way for the chopper era of the late ‘60s and early ‘70s, and the first factory custom revolution. Pioneered by Willie G.
