FAST FOR WARD. Some call it a “tweener”, others call it “Goldilocks”, but whatever your moniker for the 27.5-inch wheel, let it be known that Haro is not new to this game. Back in 2009, well before the groundswell of 27.5inch hype, Haro launched the Beasley, a completely unique bike that not only featured either a 1x drivetrain or singlespeed build, but also rolled on 650b wheels (same size as 27.5, just a different name). Since the Beasley, Haro has refined and perfected the geometry around the 27.5-inch wheel size, and in 2013 launched the Flightline 27.Five series. The Flightline 27.Five series brings together the best characteristics of both 26-inch and 29-inch wheels for a bike that fits and rides just right.

THE BEST OF TWO WHEEL SIZES IN ONE. What makes the 27.5-inch wheel so attractive is that it’s only slightly heavier than a 26-inch wheel, yet has nearly the same quick acceleration characteristics of a 26-inch wheel combined with the added rollover capability of a 29-inch wheel. And because its tire contact patch is closer in size to a 29-inch wheel, both the Flightline 27.Five and Calavera series have far better traction and control than any 26-inch wheel. The benefits also carry over to frame design, with a 29-inch frame displaying more lateral frame flex than both a 26-inch and 27.5-inch frame design. Less frame flex equates to sharper cornering and better overall handling. The last – and perhaps most important – aspect of 27.5-inch designs is rider fit. The smaller a frame gets, the more difficult it is to fit 29-inch wheels. The Flightline 27.Five and Calavera series fits a wider range of riders for improved comfort that inspires confidence.
