letters of recommendation I grew up in NJ, so coming to Atlanta was a big deal for me. I had to choose living arrangements on my own. I never imagined buying a house, but when I received the packet from Emory Family Practice Residency Program and there was Carol Bennett’s housing analysis, Rent vs. Buy, it seemed like a no brainer. I didn’t think I could do it, but I took the plunge and decided to trust Carol. I was very nervous and naive to the process of buying a house. I can’t tell you how grateful I am to Carol for guiding me through each step of the process from prequalifying through closing. It was a 3 day house hunting whirlwind and I had no clue what I was doing or looking for. If it wasn’t for Carol having a list if houses ready for me in my preapproved price range, I would have been renting and I would not have rental property today! Carol made the process so easy, not only in negotiating the house I wanted, staying in my preapproved limit even though the asking price was higher, and also had the seller include a garage door opener, I didn’t know I needed. It was a brand new property! I had purchased a property in 2 days and didn’t even have to return for closing. Carol did the walk through for me and all paperwork was done through FedEx (would be email today ;-) and Carol even sent me my keys through Express mail. Yes, I still own that first property I bought in Atlanta so many years ago. I still love that house. When it was time to upgrade in size, I called Carol again. And she did it again, made it so easy I swear it was easier than applying for a credit card. My husband and I moved to Atlanta to start intern year last summer, and we had no idea what we were doing or how to buy a house.
