Congratulations to you for reaching this crucial stage of your journey in becoming a professional designer! This Graduation Project is crucial not just because it is the final year project. This is an opportunity to bring out the best in you. It is time to fall back on all that you have learned at MIT ID and apply on a real life situation. It’s a time to put yourselves to test and see what you can deliver. It is now that you find what you are really passionate about. This juncture is a beautiful transition of yours, from a student to a professional. This is the time you will miss your studio, your hostel, your addas , your friends and everything that you had at MIT ID. It is very important for you to make the best of this opportunity. The graduation project not only substantiates all that you have learned at MITID but also enables you to get an industry perspective and prepares you for the future. Keeping this in mind we have compiled few resources and guidelines that you might find useful. Each one of you is a unique individual and will be working on your own exciting endeavours. This handbook will provide you the overall guidelines throughout the process. There are also some sections which will help you manage time during the project and be better prepared for your jury presentation as well. We are sure this will be helpful for you to complete your project successfully and make it the most exiting learning experience yet. Good luck!

The start dates and end dates for the project should be discussed with the faculty and industry mentor . The scope and deliverables should be defined such that they are realistically achievable during the project duration. You need to submit a time line with clearly identified milestones for the project so that the progress of the project can be monitored . The template for the time line is given on next page. During the project there should be minimum 3 review meets with your faculty mentor. The 1st review meet should be within the 1-1/2 month of the project start date. The discussion and feedback during the review meetings will have to be documented and signed by the faculty and industry mentors.
