GUESS WHO'S BACK, BACK AGAIN § Hartford has received a boost with the addition of graduate student Traci Carter to the roster § With one season of eligibility remaining, he was officially cleared to play just hours before the Hawks' game at Central Connecticut last month (Dec. 18) § A 1,000-point scorer who reached the milestone in the NCAA Tournament game against Baylor, he is amidst is third season at Hartford — and his seventh season as a collegian —after spending two years at Marquette (2015-17) and two seasons at La Salle (2017-19) § Carter is a two-time America East All-Conference performer and a two-time All-Defensive Team member CARTER STEALS THE SHOW § In his two full seasons at Hartford, Carter ranked among the nation's best in steals per game, finishing ninth in 2019-20 (2.5 spg) and 10th in 2020-21 (2.5) § His 83 thefts in his first season with the Hawks were a single-season record § He also finished as the America East's leader in assists and assists per game in each of his two seasons § Last season, Carter was second on the team

HARTFORD MEN'S BASKETBALL | GAME 13 vs. STONY BROOK WHO'S NEW § Joining four transfers and eight returners on the roster are a pair of players who will be making their collegiate debuts this season § A 1,600-point scorer at Catholic Memorial High School, Kurtis Henderson joins the Hawks as the team's only true freshman § Carlos Edmundo, a junior, earned a spot on the roster as a walk-on after playing at Piscataway High School JACK PHELAN CLASSIC § Hartford and Saint Francis came together to celebrate Jack Phelan last month § Serving as head coach of the Hawks for 11 seasons (1981-92), he amassed over 100 wins during his career § Phelan, who was inducted into Hartford's Athletics Hall of Fame as a Pioneer in 2009, was also a part of the school's transition from NCAA Division II to I § The Connecticut native was also a Hall of Fame player at Saint Francis after spending four seasons with the team (1973-77) MR.
