LAST MEETING After three scoreless innings, Hartford posted seven unanswered runs over the next four innings to secure a 7-0 victory in the nightcap of a doubleheader at Maine on April 17, 2021. Senior Nicholas Dombkowski picked up the win, tossing seven shutout frames and recording 10 strikeouts.

SETTING THE SCENE

The Hartford baseball team returns to action this weekend, as the Hawks play host to conference fo3 Maine for a four-game set. Single games on Frieay and Sunday sandwich a doubleheader set for Saturday. First pitch from Fiondella Field is scheduled for 3 p.m. on Friday, while Saturday’s and Sunday’s contests will begin at 11 a.m.

NICKY NO-NO

Despite playing the second fewest games among their conference mates, the Hawks lead the America East with 83 steals this season

Senior Nicholas Dombkowski tossed the program’s second no-hitter in a 4-0 victory over UAlbany this past Saturday to earn America East Pitcher of the Week Honors. Dombkowski struck out nine batters to earn his fourth win of 2021.

MAINE NOTEBOOK QUICK HIT Maine enters this weekend’s series with a 16-17 record on the season, including an 11-14 mark in the America East. Most recently, the Black Bears dropped three out of four games against UMass Lowell this past weekend. The two sides split Saturday’s contests before Maine dropped Sunday’s games by a combined eight runs.

LAST TIME OUT & STATS LAST BY THE TIME #’SOUT Hartford dropped a doubleheader at UAlbany this past Sunday at Varsity Field. After falling 11-7 in the opener, the Hawks narrowly lost in the nightcap, 5-4. Hartford had five different players collect an RBI in the opener, while sophomore Tremayne Cobb Jr. led the offense with two RBI and two walks in the second game.
