LAST MEETING After the Hawks opened a three-game series with a 4-1 victory, Stony brook took the second contest before holding Hartford to three hits as they took down the Hawks, 9-0, in five innings on March 31, 2019. Last season’s contest was cancelled due to COVID-19.

SETTING THE SCENE

The Hartford softball team begins America East play with a three-game series against Stony Brook this weekend. First pitch from the Hartford Softball Field is set for 1 p.m. on Saturday and noon on Sunday.

DYNAMIC DUO

Senior Danielle Rocheleau and junior Kelsey Galevich are the leading returners on offense. Pitching a complete-game Galevich looks to build on a breakout sophomore three-hit shutout to propel campaign in which she led the team in total hits the Hawks to an 8-0 victory (13), doubles (2), RBI (10), slugging percentage against Seton Hall, sophomore (.742) and on-base percentage (.471). Rocheleau had an impressive 2020 season that featured Caylee English leads the team-best numbers in runs (12) and home runs league with a 0.00 ERA. (3) and batting average of .344.

STONY BROOK NOTES QUICK HIT Stony Brook comes into the series at 13-6, and 2-0 in the America East. The Seawolves opened conference play with a sweep of Binghamton last weekend before dropping a 10-6 decision to Fordham on Tuesday. CLICK HERE TO VIEW ROSTER

Allowing only one hit while striking out 22 in her last two starts, Bodrug was recently named the Wilson/NFCA Pitcher of the Week.
