Series History

Tuesday marks the first all-time meeting between Hartford and Keene State. The Owls will also be the first Little East Conference opponent that the Hawks have faced off against in program-history.

Team History

Hartford scored a programrecord 21 goals in its 21-6 victory over Clark in the season opener on Feb. 22nd. In addition, the Hawks also recorded a programrecord with 22 draw controls throughout the contest.

TODAY’S MATCH

The Hartford women’s lacrosse team is set for its penultimate game of the 2023 season on Tuesday, April 11, welcoming Keene State to Al-Marzook Field at Alumni Stadium. Tuesday will also serve as Hartford’s senior day as the Hawks will honor their five seniors Lily Belle Baker, Emily Steele, Melanie Poland, Olivia Wightman, and Hanna Ramsey prior to opening draw control at 4 p.m.

Scouting The Opponent

The Owls enter play with a 3-8 overall and 1-1 record in conference play. Keene State dropped its last matchup to Little East Conference opponent Plymouth State, 19-6, on Saturday. Reigning LEC Defensive Player of the Week Haile Ratajack leads the Owls offense with 26 goals and four assists for 30 points on the season. Tess Brown has been Keene State’s top defensive force, posting team-highs of 39 ground balls, 39 draw controls and 30 caused turnovers. Kara Moriarty is the Owl’s main netminder, registering 9.99 goals against while tallying 30 saves over 11 appearances for a .385 save percentage.

The Hawks enter play looking to get back in the win column after dropping their last three contests. Hartford as a team has combined to score a program-record 125 goals on the season. Fueling the Hawks’ offensive output are four 20+ goal scorers including, Meghan Smith (24), Leniajah Ferguson (24), Lily Belle Baker (23) and Emily Steele (21). Smith and Ferguson are tied for the program-record for goals scored in a single season. Steele now owns the program record for points in a single season with 34 total off 21 goals and 13 assists. Hanna Ramsey enters play with a career-high 83 saves, 11 caused turnovers and 42 ground balls for a 6-3 record in net this season.

Rookie Campaign

Courtney Ingham, Sara Costa, and Kelly Hoxie have each made a big impact in the Hawks starting lineup during their first seasons with the program. Ingham set the program-record for most points by a first-year student in program history at 17 total off 13 goals and four assists. Costa and Hoxie add to the scoring success this season each tallying 12 points on the year.
