THE GAME

Hartford is in the midst of a nine-game homestand after opening the stretch with a three-game series against Sienna. This game was originally scheduled for a doubleheader, but will be played as a single game instead.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT

Bryant comes into the game 6-11 after sweeping a doubleheader from Manhattan Sunday.

After giving up a first-inning homer, Kylie Kenney was phenomenal with a Bryant D1 program record of 16 strikeouts. She is 5-5 on the season with a 4.43 ERA. She has 47 strikeouts over 42.2 innings. As a team, Bryant has a 4.93 ERA.

The Bulldogs have four starters hitting over .300 as the team is hitting .261.

LAST TIME OUT

Hartfford split a doubleheader with Siena Saturday, winning the first game in walk-off fashion.

Sarah Serrano snapped a 12-at-bat hitless streak with a walk-off double as the Hawks took the opener, 3-2.

Lauren Card, 3-1, struck out a careerhigh seven batters in hurling her second complete game of the season. She allowed two runs, one earned, while scattering seven hits.

Mara Sczecienski came up a triple shy

of the cycle, with her 4-for-4 performance as the Hawks fell short in the nightcap, 5-4. She scored two runs with three RBI.

STREAKING

Mara Sczecienski has raised her batting average more than 120 points during her current seven-game hitting streak. Buoyed by her 4-for-4 performance in the Siena nightcap, she is went from .259 to .380 over this stretch.

She began with a two-homer performance against UT-Chattanooga and has been hitting rockets ever since. During her streak, Sczecienski is 12-of-23 with three doubles, four homeruns and eight RBI.

IN THE CARDS

Senior Lauren Card has seemingly rebounded from a tough 2022 season as she is leading the team with a 2.71 ERA. Her three wins have already eclipsed her career total of two coming into the season.

Part of her success has been her ability to command the strike zone. In 38 innings last year, Card 13 walks and eight strikeouts. Thus far in 31 innings, she has four walks with 21 strikeouts.

NEXT ON TAP

Hartford welcomes Manhattan to the Hartford Softball Field for a doubleheader Noon Saturday.
