DEDICATED TO MOTHER MONSTER

In 2011 Lady Gaga released her album „Born This Way“. Inspired by the album Domenic Hartmann started his project “K!LL THE B!TCH”. 8 month of hard work later he started to stage his own fashion designs and ideas and interpreted each song by taking photographs. In cooperation with Bianca Woltsche, his makeup artist, they create their own Lady Gaga inspired makeup application and gave the

PROLOGUE

whole project an one and only look. Overall the project took a whole year to finish it. For both, Domenic and Bianca, it was the first time to work on a project like “K!LL THE B!TCH” and they worked with all their blood, sweat and tears to end the whole photo project in this photobook.

MARRY THE NIGHT «Nothing’s to cool, to take me from you, New York is not just a town that you never knew. Love is the new denim or black. Skeleton Guns or wedding bells in the attic.» Lady Gaga

This song is about going back to New York. I wrote the song about the courage it took for me to say „I hate Hollywood, I just wanna live in Brooklyn and make music.“

BORN THIS WAY «Don’t be a Drag, Just be a Queen. Whether you’re broke or evergreen. No matter gay, straight or BI, lesbian, transgendered life. You‘re on the right track baby, you were BORN THIS WAY.» Lady Gaga

That song was about revolution, freedom, lack of prejudice. While creating the visuals I thought so much about my Little Monsters.

GOVERNMENT HOOKER «I could be girl, unless you want to be man. I could be sex, unless you want to hold hands. I could be anything, I could be everything. I could be mom, unless you want to be dad.» The humour is that a machine in me tells me what to do and I happily do it as long as I get fucked. It relates to how our government fuck us over, but it makes fun of the plastic popstar – I’ll do anything as long as you fuck me and pay me. Lady Gaga

JUDAS «In the most Biblical sense, I am beyond repentance. Fame hooker, prostitute wench, vomits her mind. But in the cultural sense I just speak in future tense. Judas kiss me of offensed, or wear ear condom next time. I wanna love you, but something’s pulling me away from you. Jesus is my virtue, Judas is the demon I cling to.» It’s no surprise, I’m sure, to many of you, that Judas is a man of the biblical senses, so expect to see some symbolism in this video. You have to look into what is haunting you and you need to look into forgiving yourself in order to move on.

Lady Gaga

AMERICANO «I met a girl in east LA, in floral shorts as sweet as May. She sang in eights in two-bar chords. We fell in Love, but not in court. I don’t speak your, I don’t speak your language. Jesus Christo. Americano.» The immigration law was passed in Arizona, houses were being raided for immigrants, some of whom had been here for 20 years. America was once the land of the free and now they’re telling everyone to get the fuck out.

Lady Gaga

HAIR «And if I’m hot shot, Mom will cut my hair at night. And in the morning, I’m short of my identity. I just wanna be myself, and I want you to love me for who I am.» Lady Gaga

..., which involves the analogy of my hair with freedom, and how that is the only part of my body I can change without anyone judging.

«Put on a show tonight, do whatever you like. Scheiße, scheiße be mine, scheiße be mine. When I‘m on a mission, I rebuke my condition. If you‘re a strong female, you don‘t need permission. I wish I could be strong without somebody there. I wish I could be strong without the scheiße, yeah!» I meant it like „Shit, it‘s good.“ but I also meant it the other way; because this song is really about wanting to be a strong female without all the bullshit that comes along with. Anything that gets in your way from being brave. It‘s not the only word I know, I just like that word. It‘s sexy.

Lady Gaga

BLOODY MARY «I won‘t cry for you, I won‘t crucify the things you do. I‘ll still be Bloody Mary. We are not just art for Michelangelo, the carve, he can‘t rewrite the agro, of my furied heart. Je ne veux pas mourir tout seule.» Lady Gaga Bloody mary is subtle actually, it‘s a song about Mary being divine and human at the same time, with a subtext about the role of a woman who is supposed to be a superstar and a real woman at the same time. I‘m struggling between fantasy and reality. inspired by my car and mary magdalene.

BLACK JESUS † AMEN FASHION «I grew up in New York City, since I was born on broadway, baby. Moved downtown when I was just 19, to start a new life on the new york scene. Concrete poetry to feed my mind, old symbolism was left behind.» Lady Gaga Up till then, iconic imagery had taught her entire life to look at Jesus and religion a certain way. So she sees Black Jesus as an entirely new way of thinking, which she believed was caused by meeting new people and seeing new things. She says that the Amen Fashion part of the song is about having a new way of seeing is as easy as changing your fashion.

BAD KIDS «I’m a bad kid,
And I will survive.
Oh I’m a bad kid,
Don’t know wrong from right. Don’t be insecure,
If your heart is pure.
You’re still good to me if you’re a bad kid baby. I’m not that typical, baby.
I’m a bad kid like my mom and dad made me.» Lady Gaga

I was inspired by many stories of Little Monsters that I heard while I was on the Monster Ball Tour and the song was a tribute to their stories.

FASHION OF HIS LOVE «I‘m seeing all the signs from above, I‘m going to be the one that he loves. I‘m gonna be his first and last kiss, cause baby I was born to be his, I was made for loving him. The Fashion of his Love.» Lady Gaga

The Song was a tribute to Designer Alexander McQueen and was written after his death. The Bridge was taken of a song gaga has written with Space Cowboy titled „Earthquake“.

HIGHWAY UNICORN (ROAD TO LOVE) «She‘s just an American, ridin‘ a dream. We can be strong, we can be strong, out on this lonely run, on the road to love. We can be strong, we can be strong, follow that unicorn, on the road to love.» Lady Gaga

It‘s about myself, travelling on the road with nothing but a dream.

HEAVY METAL LOVER «I want your whiskey mouth, all over my blonde south. Red wine, cheap perfume, and a filthy pout. Tonight bring all your friends, because a group does it better. Why river with a pair? Let‘s have a full house of leather. Dirty pony, I can‘t wait to hose you down. You‘ve got to earn your leather, in this part of town.»

ELECTRIC CHAPEL ÂŤIf you want to steal my heart away, meet me meet me baby in a safe place, come on meet me in electric chapel. Confess to me, where you have been, next to the bar. Pray for your sins, right under the glass disco ball.Âť Lady Gaga

The Monster Ball is an Electric Chapel, a place where my friends can go. It is about needing to feel safe finding love.

THE QUEEN «Oh, tonight I‘m gonna show, them what I‘m made of, oh, the killer queen inside me‘s coming to say hello. Whenever I start feeling strong, I‘m called a bitch in the night. I can be, the queen that‘s inside of me. I can be, the queen you need me to be. I‘ve dreamed it‘s happening, I can be the queen.» Lady Gaga

This song is about bravery and wanting to be unafraid.

YOÜ AND I «He said „Sit back down where you belong, in the corner of my bar with your high heels on. Sit back down on the couch where we, made love the first time and you said to me,“There’s something about this place. Something, ‘bout lonely nights, and my lipstick on your face. Something, something about, my cool Nebraska guy. Yeah, there‘s something about, Baby, you and I.» I wrote this song, out of the deepest most pure, happiest place in my heart. The most important person that I‘d ever met, and all my friends downtown. Lady Starlight, and Brian, who‘s here today, playing the trumpet, and all my friends. They‘re so wonderful, and they stood by me this whole time. So it‘s for them. Lady Gaga

THE EDGE OF GLORY «Another shot before we kiss the other side tonight. Yeah baby, tonight yeah baby. I‘m on the edge of something final we call life tonight. It‘s hot to feel the rush, to brush the dangerous. I‘m gonna run right to, to the edge with you. Where we can both fall far in love. I‘m on the edge of glory, and I‘m hangin‘ on a moment with you. I‘m on the edge with you.» Lady Gaga The song is about, how when I watch my grandpa die, I believe that he looks my grandmother and I realize that he was a champion in the life and that‘s when he‘s able to go to the edge of glory that represents being on the edge of that glorious moment. It‘s about knowing in your heart you may never reach that glorious moment until you die, so live life on the edge half way between heaven and hell, and let‘s all dance in the middle in purgatory.

DOMENIC HARTMANN Domenic Hartmann (19) is the developer of this project. He is not only a photographer, he also runs a graphic design business. He started the work for the project in 2012 and in November 2012 he recruited Bianca for his team. As Lady Gaga’s greatest fan it is Domenic’s dream that Mother Monster will see what he has done for her and what inspiration she is for all the Little Monsters in the world.

» MOTHER MONSTER is the inspiration of this whole thing. It would have been impossible to do something like that without her music. Thanks for believing in me! « PAWS UP

- forever.

BIANCA WOLTSCHE Bianca Woltsche (24) is a professional makeup artist and hairstylist. She graduated at a seminary in Munich, Germany in 2009. With her excellent and special makeup ideas she created face charts for every chapter in this book.
