To ensure that we maintain the highest standards of quality, we thoroughly test our products for strength, weather resistance, colourfastness, and other quality parameters, using the same NEN 581 standards such well-known testing agencies as TNO and TUV use and are executed by an official engineer.
Hartman garden furniture is designed to be enjoyed year after year. That is why we invariably write Quality with a capital Q.
Good to know: we do not test on Camping level but at least on Domestic level test parameters and sometimes even on Contract level.
We use only pure and certified materials. To us, quality also means safety. Think 'safety locks', for an extra strong frame.
But our rigorous testing does not end there; we also conduct regular product inspections, checking the materials for proper welding, damage, cracks, scratches and irregularities. This way, you are always assured of getting the highest possible quality. Enjoy every moment
Seat and back static load test: Seat load : 1600 N for 9x 30 seconds and 1x 30 minutes Back load : 410 N for 9x 30 seconds and 1x 30 minutes
Seat front edge static load test: Seat load : 1300 N for 9x 30 seconds and 1x 30 minutes
Seat and back fatigue test for seating: Seat and back load : 1000 N on seat during test and 285 N at the back for 12.500 times (at same time), after 12.500 times the back load ends and seat load continues till 25.000 times
Seat and back fatique test for seating: Seat and back load : 1000 N on seat during complete test and 285 N at the right and left back sides for 12.500 times
Fatigue test on back rest mechanism: Seat load : 1000 N during test Back load left/right : 285 N / 12.500 times
Arm downwards static load test: Armrest load : 750 N / 10x10 sec per armrest Both armrest have to sustain a load of 750 N (10 cm of front of armrest)
Arm fatigue test: Armrest load : 375 N / 15.000 times per armrest During this test the armrests are pushed downwards as well as sidewards
Leg forward static load test: Seat load : 750 N / 10x10 sec The front legs are blocked and the seat gets a weight of 750 N. Horizontal force of 375 N on back of the chair
Leg sideways static load test: Seat load : 750 N / 10x10 sec Front and back leg are blocked and the seat gets a weight of 750 N. Horizontal force of 375 N on side of chair
Seat impact test: Drop height : 10 cm Drop weight : 500 N / 10 times
Stability test: Load on seat and backrest : 1100 N / 1 hour Test is executed in a room with temperature between 20-25 degrees Celsius.
Vertical static load test on table top: Load on table : 750 N / 9x 30 sec and 1x 30 min (middle of table top, 5 cm from edge of table)
Table surface test: Testing the table surface for maintenance (stains tests; f.e. oil, wine, mayonnaise, curry etcetera)
Horizontal fatigue test: Load : 150 N / number of cycles 10.000 (for tables <160 cm, for tables > 160 cm 500 N / 10.000 times). This unit also tests table stability
Stability under vertical load: Load : 400 N / 5 sec (for tables >160 cm)
Sun test: We also test our wicker for UV stability
Cooling test: We also test furniture in freezing conditions.
Forward and rearward stability: Seat load : 600 N (6 cm from front of chair - centered) horizontal force of 70 N for 5 sec
