TV Asahi launches two new game show formats for Fall-Winter

Japanese commercial broadcaster TV Asahi launched two new formats this fall-winter: Red Light Green Light and #Hash Tag.

Both formats are classic childhood games that were reimagined into exciting TV shows using modern technology.

In Red Light Green Light, challengers are fitted with sensors that measure minute movements in their hands and feet and must run as fast as possible on a track full of obstacles to reach their goal.

Meanwhile, the classic game of tag is given a new life in #Hash Tag where the game uses social media. The “Wanted” carries a placard that encourages passersby to take a photo and post on Twitter with a pre-determined hashtag.

The “It” will rely on locations posted on Twitter from the hashtag to track down the “Wanted.”
