Spatially, the central focus is the circular path that provides opportunities for resident connection, an indoor track for wellbeing that transitions into an outdoor art walk, and a farmers market that brings the social sustainability focus to life. The central community areas are surrounded by two-story facades that was designed with a ground-level stoop for residents who prefer interaction as well as containing a second-floor private balcony for those who want more privacy.

FARMER’S MARKET

Within Roanoke, the downtown area has a farmer’s market that was translated into supporting different branches and cultures of the veteran community market.

GYM

While we have provided a central path to encourage well being and exercise, we also provided a gym for a space to get back on track after their time post-service.

RELAXATION ROOM

Surrounded by the resources offices, the relaxation room is sheltered from surroundings while having a view to the courtyard with a calming fountain outside the window.
