I’m an architecture student from pondicherry. my approach to design is by making mutiple conceptual iterations of a structure which will be scrutinized as which one resonates more to the climate and locality. my recent interest in parametric architecture has pulled me to a spree of curvilinear elements in my works, i’m avid to learn more softwares, techniques and their application for architecture. i’m in search for a place to do my internship where expedient design approach and feasible fabrication techniques are achieved through interdisciplinary collaboration.

TORRENTIAL WEAV BOUTIQUE DESIGN: NIFT CAMPUS
VE
The boutique boasts a unique curvilinear ceiling design that gracefully spills to the ground on one side, creating a captivating visual experience. The concept behind Torrential Weave is to replicate the inherent properties of fabric, movement, and dynamic nature. Inspite of all the modern values it holds a balanced outlook which is merited to the traditional elements on both in and out. The notion of this boutique is to give the students a collective space to exhibit their works to public appraisal.

Cafeteria is known to be a de facto students hub in any educational facility, so the core of the design is to make multiple student facililties to be tied together in one linear path. the stairs on the front is a pathway for the residing open-air theatre which is connected to the students hub beside. So this entire stretch of facilities will stay as a haven for students uninterrupted by any athourity from the college.

the central stairs will be the dominant feature to attract people and so the overall symmetry of the layout is also preserved. large glazed openings are used to get the most supply of daylight, which are essential ingredients that wrap up the overall ambiance of the cafe. A rough texture is used in columns and kitchen, creating as sophisticated a feeling as possible. This is to induce appropriate harmony and avoid a monotonous atmosphere.

23
strategy The approach to this design was to make students housing as done in modular architecture, a single unit has been designed giving each Student their own space of enough privacy, lighting, ventilation and a roof garden. The sloped glass roof consists of two layers of translucent panels that protect inhabitants from extensive heat gain, the inner layer is present as a partial roof which has a tinted frosted glass that provides a sense of privacy and a playful appearence to the units. The upper room is supported by light gauge steel frame structure that will reduce the dead load of the unit, with one end of the unit extending 8 meters as cantilever. this gives the corridor below an uninterrupted flow without the need of columns.

RIPPLE ACADEMY DESIGN: NIFT CAMPUS
Concept of this design is to replicate the ripple effect in streams that is residing the structure, the integration of fluid design and rigid planning resonates the region’s contrasting nature. The fluid facade consists of glass fiber reinforced concrete panels and space frame structure. The complex geometry is achieved through SubD modelling. This academy consists of classrooms, knitting laboratory, admin, conference halls, and a ramp of extensive grass cover that seamlessly flows from ground to first floor.

TRIUNE LATTICE PARA-FACADE
This facade is the metal lattice composition of triangular units that will serve as to protect structure from heat but gives off a symphony of light and shadow on the interior. the end of each alternating form there will be nodes that connects the structure to the facade, this design is concieved as a prefabricated element to fit in any structure with a linear wall. this form is achieved through computational design plug-in grasshopper.
