The Anniversary sale created lots of atmosphere on St David’s Day trade peaking at £2020 Well time has passed since we opened the doors with Barbers in our dairy sale venture, we have reached 12 months and it has been incredible, the support from both vendors and purchasers has been overwhelming and we really cant thank you all enough, from 12 months to where we are today receiving an entry of over 100 milking cows and heifers quite staggering. The first sale of the month is our show and sale and this month was very kindly sponsored by Business Finance Brokers, who are financing cows and machinery, they provided some fantastic cash prizes and great hampers for the Champion and Reserve. A fantastic entry of over 100 milkers this week also a group of In Calf Heifers and Holstein Stock Bull, the ring was once again packed with a large range of buyers to bid in all commodities on offer, 31 successful bidders today, the normal consigner section topped at £2020 for a super pedigree heifer Lionheart Barney Heather, this super heifer calved on th 13th February and was giving 30kg daily she was secured by G A Hargreave & Sons, Cresswell. Cows sold to £1900 for a super cow from Marsh Farms, she was secured by BG & MA Elkin & Sons Ltd, Hilderstone. The show was judged today by Mick Gould of Woodmarsh Holsteins, who did a great job and for his champion he selected a great Red & White heifer from Ballakillingham Farms, this pedigree heifer Fingan Spectram Anita Red calved on the 18th February and was yielding 26.5kg daily she was snapped up by Richard Bowdler, Ellesmere. The Reserve Champion went to a smashing heifer from regular consigner M T Jones, Middleton, selling for £1680. Other great heifers sold to £1700 for Marsh Farms, other great cows sold to £1800 for Rob Huntbach,giving 50kg daily, this also a prize winning cow, she was snapped up by D & J Mosley Ltd, Amaston. Brown Swiss from Messrs Davies Puddington sold to £1490. Dry Cows sold to £1020 for a cow coming with her 8 th Calf for W J Jones, Kidderminster who is dispersing his herd through the weekly sales, she was secured by G Jones, Habberley. In Calf Heifers sold to £1350 for regular vendor Colin Pym. A Holstein stock bull to £940 for H R Taylor & Son The first portion of the Dispersal from James Darbyshire (on behalf of the Administrator) was keenly sought and these are really good sound cows, the sale featured 44 cows and milking heifers from a cross section of the herd from fresh


cows, mid lactation and dry cows, this the same selection process being made for next weeks sale. The cows are very genuine and cows which will go and do well for purchasers, the trade was led by a super fresh calved heifer at ÂŁ1560 she was secured by Richard Bowdler. This herd will be sold over the next few weeks and they come well recommended, they all have individual cell counts and have been pregnancy diagnosed.
