£2000 TOP CALL FOR A 33.KG HEIFER THIS WEEK A smaller entry this week at our weekly sale, with just 35 animals being sold, the fewest numbers in a while which seems to be the general trend all around the country currently, the ring was bursting with activity, plenty of buyers in attendance with width, strength and milk on the top of their shopping lists. £2000 was the top call of the day for a tremendous heifer from A & HM Hulme & Son of Hollington, Staffordshire, this super heifer Overton Embargo Judy, sired by Mr Lookout Embargo calved on the 16th March and was yielding 33.6kg daily and was secured by regular purchasers BG &MA Elkin & Sons, who also secured a great heifer from P A & J M Astley, Deytheur Goldmine Bluebell, a daughter of Hydaways Goldmine calved on the 24th March and was yielding 27kg daily she was purchased for £1880.

Plenty of heifers in the £1500 to £1700 bracket today, British fresiens were in keen demand selling to £1620 for a super heifer from JWG Dalby & Sons, this heifer Ringswood Norway Roma 3rd sired by Langley Norway was 10 days fresh and was secured by J W Latchford.

Irish Cows sold to £1500 for a second calver.

In Calf heifers sold to £1270 for a super heifer from CR & GE Pym, Barrow Chester.

Heifer Calves sold to £250 for I T Manning of Worthenbury.
