CONSISITANT TRADE THE NAME OF THE DAY A good entry today with once again lots of choice for all buyers, a decent entry of quality in the first portion of the sale. The second part of the sale featured the on going dispersal from James Darbyshire. The sale topped at £1720 today so again no dizzy heights however it must be said that the consistency was great with the milking heifers averaging £1520. Selling for £1720 was a super second calved cow from Matt Jones Lower Grimmer, this Garrison Kade daughter was yielding 36kg daily and was secured by Margaret and Ben Elkin for their Hilderstone based herd. They also took home with them from the same consigner another second calved cow giving 36kg she realised at £1700, a super second calved Black and White Ayrshire from S N Bailey was sold for £1620 also to the Elkin family. Milking heifers topped at £1700 for TG Phillips & Co of Llanymnech this super pedigree heifer Burgedin Murdock Rose bred from two generations of cows scored Very Good or Excellent was yielding 28kg daily and really looked the part she was secured by DR & B Trow, Whixall. C A S Malpass Ltd of Gnosall consigned three topping heifers, two selling for £1620 and £1600 both registered from their Malberry herd, these super strong heifers which were very milky indeed were secured by the Hunt Partnership, Crewe. Brown Swiss from regular consigners H Davies, Puddington sold to £1600 for a second calver calved 7 days and already giving 39kg daily, she was secured by a regular local buyer. Fourth calved cows from this same home sold for £1500. Shorthorns fresh calved heifers sold to £1400 from R N Thompson, Ashbourne. The dispersal herd from James Darbyshire sold to £1450 for a fresh calved heifer which looked the part, the In calf cows were keenly sought after today and these were in the £1000 to £1200 range. In Calf Heifers a little less money today selling to £990 for a heifer from Colin Pym of Barrow Chester.
