Fantastic Heifer tops trade at £1950 Todays weekly sale comprised a great quality with a mixture of breeds and types to suit all syatems and budgets. Topping the trade of fantastic quality heifers with an udder you would like to see evry morning was Veglefield Cruise Sparkle this Wiltor Cruise daughter giving 32kg went to BG & MA Elkin & Sons, Hilderstone. Hot on her heels was a super strong heifer from RH & S Mottershead with Deedale Cherry 59 by Olmar Jeeves Dare and giving 33 kg she went to Messrs Trow at £1800. A great run of heifers from TG Phillips & Co sold to average £1500. All in all quality heifers selling well today to average at £1260 overall. Hilltop Farming came to the fore of the cow trade with Budworth Berryhill Queen GP84 giving 43kg just into her 2nd lactation. This absolute milk machine went again to BG & MA Elkin & Sons at £1900.Following her with trade to £1100 was a great group of surplus 3rd calvers from PA & HS Davies,Welshpool. From a low input herd with great potential the group of 11 realised an average of just under £1000. Other breed today were lead by H & H Jones sweet Ayrshire heifer at £950 to Messrs Swinson and Brown Swiss cow at £940 giving just under 50 kg from Harold Davies & Patners, Puddington. In Calf heifers with 10 forward to day went to £1200 for CR & GE Pym,Little Barrow by Morningview Lucifer in calf to the Angus also with another at £1170. Standon Old Hall also sold to £1180 also in calf to Hereford named sire. Heifer calves with just one in today realising £100 form Mr Manning, maybe some lucky Mum is getting this Friesian calf for Mothers Day !
