WHAT A CRACKING SALE OPENER FOR 2017 SEVEN ANIMALS SMASHING THE £2000 BARRIER The first sale of the year and a great start receiving an entry of just under 50 animals, with £2100 top price and all milkers apart from 3, the show today was judged by Andrew Jones of Rossett Holsteins, he had a storming selection of milking cows and heifers to pick from; The sale ring and lines were buzzing with atmosphere today and the ring was packed once again with buyers keen to secure the goods on offer and what an awesome selection there was! We would like to congratulate our vendors for the superb quality which was on offer throughout the sale a true credit to you all. Before the sale commenced the judging was carried out by Andrew Jones of Rossett his first prize heifer and Champion he selected a fantastic heifer sired by Genus Belmont Leeds, from A J Williams from Weston Lullingfield this tremendous heifer sold for £2000 to regular buyers Messrs BG & MA Elkin, Hilderstone, who secured some other great animals throughout the sale. A J Williams consigned two further cracking heifers resulting in his three heifers averaging £2010. The second prized heifer was another super heifer with a great udder consigned by Marsh Farms from Stanton-On-Hine-Heath, sired by Older this capacious heifer was yielding 39kg daily, bidding was fierce and the hammer fell at £2100 to Messrs C J Phillips & Co, Minsterley. The first prize cow on the day was lot 66 from Marsh Farms who consigned an awesome line up, this Bomaz Ingenious daughter was 1 st place cow and Reserve Champion on the day, sold yielding 41kg per day she was secured by Messrs F & N Brunt & Sons of Moddershall, the second prize cow also from this home sold for £2000 to Messrs Elkin, sired by the same sire and yielding 39kg daily. Other great milk heifers sold for £1950 for a pedigree heifer from regular vendor M T Jones of Middleton, this great milk heifer sold to A & SEL Barber, Gnosall Stafford. H J Pickering has a super heifer which realised at £1850 to C J Phillips. A super selection of high yielding Brown Swiss from H Davies, Puddington Chester sold to £1760 to Richard Bowdler, who also secured some other great milkers on the day. Ayrshires sold to £1200 for Mark Partington 3 recently served heifers sold to £730 for Luke Aitkenhead A ring full of buyers today with 21 recorded purchasers, more animals needed week on week to fulfil our growing purchasers demand, next week we have already several super batches of fresh milking cows and heifers booked in.
