51 Dairy Cattle (Hassall Brothers) Auctioneer : Stuart Hassall (07495 804308) ***NEW OFFICE NUMBER 01829 260545*** Level trade throughout brings heifer average of £1553 A tremendous entry of exceptionally milky heifers for todays weekly sale lead to a heifer average of £1553. With consignments from Essex and Mid Wales in all 15 vendors put forward a great selection and this weeks trend was certainly for heifers, with plenty on offer having calved in the last 3 weeks and yielding over 30kg. The leading price of the day went to new vendor TG Phillips & Co, Llanymynech selling at £1900 for the 10 day fresh Burgedin Roscoe Wren by stock bull Ingleview LL Roscoe and yielding 30kg,the hammer fell to JG Williams, Nantwich. Top price cow today went to a regular consigner of quality cows Marsh Farms their Bomaz Ingenious sired 2nd calver fresh calved on Boxing Day yielding 42kg selling to BG & MA Elkin, Hilderstone for £1750. Numerically with 16 fresh, 2 year old heifers AA Winstanley & Partners sold to a top of £1850 for a Sala Shottle Parocas, Overwater Winster Elizabeth 5, having calved on her 2nd birthday she sold yielding 36kg to Messrs Hill & Davies, Rossett. This fantastic group of heifers averaged out at just short of £1600. Another new vendor having travelled from Clacton-on-Sea, was Messrs Smith and the journey was rewarded with a top of £1600 for their Wigbro Mammoth Daydream, this tremendous powerful 2nd calver giving 38kg sold to Messrs Hill & Davies, Rossett. Harold Davies & Partners had another quality line up of Brown Swiss young cows all fresh and milking tremendously they topped at £1450, for another tremendous 2nd calver giving 41kg just 8 days fresh, these quality cows really know how to milk. A second cow from the same home also yielding 40kg just a week into her 2nd lactation also realised £1200. Heifer calves were on offer today again with a top price of £250 for a end of October born Brown Swiss showing great promise again from the Davies family. This strong well grown calf went to AJ Scott, Stapeley.


Lots of quality heifers today were on offer and it is fair to say that the quality throughout showed in the average ÂŁ1553 up over ÂŁ200 in the week.
