Asheville INTRODUCING
Downtown Asheville Named one of the Best US Small Cities by National Geographic Traveler in 2018, the renaissance of Asheville, NC was fueled by art, food, and beer. Instead of tearing down buildings, Asheville protected its architecture and retained its character. Artists renovated the factories and warehouses by the river to create a thriving arts district, and craft breweries were attracted by the clean water of the French Broad River. The region’s farmers markets and festivals drew imaginative chefs, who helped establish Asheville as one of the top culinary destinations in the southern United States. The Blue Ridge Parkway The Blue Ridge Parkway (BRP) is a 469mile road that connects Shenandoah
National Park to Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and it is one of the most iconic scenic drives in the United States. Proposed in the 1930s and not completed until the 1970s, the Parkway winds its way along some of the highest ridgelines east of the Mississippi River. The Biltmore Estate Situated on 8,000 acres, the Biltmore is the largest privately owned house in the United States. Built by George Vanderbilt II, the nearly 180,000 square foot home includes 65 chimneys, a grand hall with 70foot ceilings, and the Vanderbilts’ personal collection of priceless artwork. Tour the home, visit the Rose Garden featuring 250 varieties of roses, and stop for a wine tasting experience at the Biltmore Winery.
