What is your current biggest challenge competing on a global scale in a highly competitive industry?
Wellness within the leisure sector is booming and we certainly see wellness becoming ever more integral to the holiday aspirations and decisions of our guests. However, the term ‘wellness’ is now so generic and so it is more important than ever to have a well-defined wellness concept and to remain true to that while still being progressive. We deliver integrated wellness and luxury hospitality with a South Tyrolean twist. Our holistic wellness concept - The Preidlhof Way – is pioneering and wholly unique while being evidence-based. It is a lifestyle that blends hedonic and eudaimonic wellbeing to create an authentic and enjoyable holiday experience with sustainable wellness results. True transformation and sustainable wellbeing can only arise from within, and this is core to ‘The Preidlhof Way’. For us, it is essential that our guests get results and that they can integrate their experience in their everyday lives on returning home.
What differentiates the hotel from others in your opinion?
The Preidlhof Way is central to the guest experience and it is based on the balance between the hedonic and eudaemonic search for happiness. At Preidlhof, we aim to establish the correct balance between “Pleasure & Enjoyment” and “Healing & Value” to enable our guests to discover a new, higher frequency in their everyday life. We want them to discover a more mindful, a more meaningful and more authentic way of living, to also find more compassion for themselves, others, and the environment.
Our approach extends beyond medical diagnostics to treat the whole person. The Preidlhof Way integrates ancient and contemporary healing treatments, sensorial and life-enhancing experiences, nature immersion, medical analysis, state-of-the-art technology, and the latest scientific research.
The Preidlhof Ways provides a concrete platform to understand life while our transformational retreats, the jewels in our offering, provide the
personalised pathways and the opportunity to encounter outstanding Therapists. We deliver consistent results and keep the human interaction spontaneous and authentic. We have some extraordinary and highly skilled healers with a remarkable synergy. They all work very closely and intuitively together to get results for our guests. They are given the space and support to bring about important changes.
Our Healers, supported by creative holistic Spa Therapists, are trained to deliver signature experiential classes. These consolidate results and expand the holistic approach, add the playful touch, or expand the sensorial experience as necessary to keep that balance between hedonic and eudaemonic wellbeing. As required in a person-centred approach, we strive to create more authentic relationships with guests, to welcome them into a wellness community which encourages inclusivity, humanity, sustainability, and generosity.
Our location, the unique microclimate, the beautiful natural surroundings, the forests and lakes… all these play an important role too because of their high, transformational power. We are blessed with Mediterranean weather and alpine scenery and traditions. All these are also expressed in the kitchen, in the spa product selection, in the architecture and in the design.
How do you remain competitive within your region in terms of the hotel’s offerings?
We continually invest in training our wellness team, this is always a priority. We also invest in the property, our wellness concept and treatment offering.
In the past four months, we introduced thermal water and thermal wellness treatments for the first time. The new hydrotherapy experience comprises the 80sqm indoor pool and a selection of private whirlpool baths. We sourced the mineral-rich water from a 400-year-old spring located under the Reinhold Messner Castle, five kilometres away. Preidlhof was part of a €2m five-year independent, combined community initiative led by the local hospitality industry. New spa experiences include private bathing experiences in the whirlpools infused with detox or regenerative bath oil blends. These are inspired by the traditional Merano bathing ritual. We have also introduced new Transformational Wellness Retreats and there is a host of new multi-sensorial treatments inspired by synaesthesia. There are also new signature treatments, a signature food philosophy and Healing Gourmet Menu, new fitness and beauty concepts, new Preidlhof cosmetic line and new guest room amenities.
How do you expect the association with Haute Grandeur will benefit your brand in the medium/long run?
It would give us an invaluable global platform to highlight our Resort and key assets, to reach new potential guests and promote our beautiful destination. It would also be immensely rewarding and motivating for our team and, in that respect, priceless.
