What is your property’s current biggest challenge & how do you manage this challenge in a highly competitive industry?

Our biggest challenge is usually getting guests to fill up our vast inventory of rooms, we have a little over 200 rooms, a handful of meeting rooms and an elegant ballroom that seats up to 300 people. Over at Tioman island we compete with a lot of hotels and that leaves potential guests spoilt for choice. We do get a good number of international guests, but we feel the need for an increase in local engagement.

For now, we play to our strengths, we sing to the world what a gem of an island Tioman can be for an amazing island vacation. Our resort in Tioman island will give holidaymakers that access as we are ideally situated on the island whereby guests can enjoy outdoor aactivities like snorkelling or diving & discovering an underwater world teeming with coral reefs and marine life, hiking through Tioman Island’s lush jungle whilst exploring beautiful waterfalls; we’re also situated next to Tekek Village, so holiday-goers can enjoy traditional sights and delicacies in the village.

makes the hotel really special?

Berjaya Tioman Resort is the largest resort in Tioman island, sprawled over 200 acres across the tropical rainforest with spacious beachfront surroundings. We also boast the largest room capacity in the island; over 200 rooms!

Another big feature that sets us apart from our competitors is our 18-hole golf course, so golfing on a tropical island, well, we have made that dream come true!

We have also introduced an innovative concept that sets us apart from other resorts on the island. We now offer a ‘Premium Flexible Rate’, which is an all-inclusive perk to our guests. This includes free-flowing beverages, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, from 10am to 10pm.

Moreover, guests who opt for our ‘Premium Flexible Rate’ will enjoy complimentary breakfast, lunch, and afternoon tea. We believe that this new offering will elevate our guests’ experience and make their stay with us even more enjoyable.

Another amazing feature about Berjaya Tioman Resort is that we are now open all throughout the year, so guests have a full range of dates to plan their perfect tropical getaway with us.

How do you prepare now to remain relevant and in-demand in future?

In the hospitality industry, customer satisfaction is key. Berjaya Tioman Resort is constantly seeking to enhance our guests’ experience by providing personalized services, quality food, and creating memorable moments.

One of the biggest and proudest initiatives we have done to improve customer satisfaction is by speeding up the check-in process with the introduction of digital check-ins. Similar to flight pre-departure check-ins, our guests can check in via a link sent by our reservation team. This allows for an easy and smooth transition from reception to room in short time, eliminating unnecessary waiting periods.

With focus on attracting families, couples, divers, and golfers, our management is always brainstorming new ideas to keep their guests engaged. Ultimately, creating an unforgettable experience is what we at Berjaya Tioman Resort aim to consistently provide.
