What is your property’s current biggest challenge & how do you manage this challenge in a highly competitive industry?

Staff hiring and retention are the biggest challenges for every property - not only in Mui Ne, but it affects most of the hospitality sector. It wasn’t easy before the Coronavirus outbreak, and the hospitality industry was one of the hardest-hit industries by the pandemic.

As we are all adjusting to the new norms and on the road to recovery, we encourage learning and career progression while providing the necessary tools and resources to attract new hires as these initiatives demonstrate that our employees are valued additions to the company while giving them a sense of purpose and empowerment. Appreciation for the skills and knowledge that the team brings to the table, clear communication on expectations, and promoting an atmosphere where people feel valued and enjoy being at work are motivators for staff retention. A happy employee will ensure a positive work culture that results in providing wonderful guest experiences and also works to draw interest from potential candidates too.

The exponentially rising costs caused by current global events also impacted the industry two-fold. Guests are generally more price sensitive, and from an operational perspective, raw produce, energy and natural resources have to be managed well due to the soaring prices. Sustainability has always been a driving philosophy of The Anam. We abide by an environmental protection commitment to conserving usage of energy, water, raw materials, fuel and other natural resources during operations while raising awareness and cultivating a sense of responsibility in championing environmental protection within our resort team. In line with the sustainability efforts in our resorts, we have eliminated single-use plastic, and our water filtration system provides bottled drinking water. Greywater is filtered and reused to water our landscaped gardens, biodegradable materials are used for straws and our beach bags, and room key cards are made with ecofriendly wood.

What makes the hotel really special?

Standing true to the company’s vision of becoming a Vietnamese luxury hospitality brand that exceeds international standards, The Anam Mui Ne embraces authenticity through Vietnam’s rich culture, timeless traditions, sincerity of service, and sustainability. These are the cornerstones of The Anam brand that leads the inspiration and guest experiences behind each property that bears our name. We offer our guests a glimpse into the gracious colonial era of Indochine charm that is visible from design aesthetics and delectable cuisine right down to the little touches. That is what makes The Anam Mui Ne unique.

In a short time since our grand opening in January 2023, the resort has proven to be a fast-rising star and already achieved a significant global presence with international recognition from top-tier media such as CNN, Bloomberg, Forbes, Robb Report and The Times as one of the best new luxury hotels in 2023.

How do you prepare now to remain relevant and in-demand in future?

Authenticity is timeless. By being true to our vision and core beliefs, by celebrating the harmony between colonial-era aesthetics intertwined with age-old traditions and modern luxuries, The Anam will stand the test of time. Engaging our guests with warm sincerity and efficient service, authenticity and personalised attention at every turn to create memorable experiences is The Anam’s promise that will remain our key pillar.

How do you expect the association with Haute Grandeur will benefit your brand in the medium/long run?

We are honoured to be associated with Haute Grandeur. It is a positioning statement for The Anam as being recognised among other hotels and resorts is already a testament to the recognition.
