What is your property’s current biggest challenge & how do you manage this challenge in a highly competitive industry?
We are operating in an industry with huge growth and in competition with large businesses. As a small luxury boutique collection in Portugal, our focus is on continuously working the brand to maximize brand knowledge of our target group, ie luxury clients.
What makes the hotel really special?
As Torel Boutiques, we distinguish ourselves through our unique storytelling, our innovative approach and crafting truly personalized experiences. Our philosophy is telling the history and the stories of Portugal through our hotels, with each unit having a unique concept related to this. In Torel Palace Lisbon, we honour the Portuguese Kings and Queens, and in Torel Avantgarde, we celebrate Portuguese (and international) artists. No two rooms are the same. You sleep in a room or Suite dedicated to a Queen or an artist, you enjoy Portuguese specialities in our restaurants, and our design is almost 100% Portuguese - from the cork on the wall to the organic amenities. Most importantly however, is that we truly care about you and go the extra mile to make you feel special.
How do you prepare now to remain relevant and in-demand in future?
Continuous fine tuning of our brand to differentiate ourselves from the competition with special focus on the personalized experience. Our focus is on the niche market of luxury travellers that want and seek an extraordinary experience. As such, we concentrate our efforts on this segment.
How do you expect the association with Haute Grandeur will benefit your brand in the medium/long run?
As a winner of the Haute Grandeur Award for the “Hotel with the best view in Portugal” in 2022, our Torel Avantgarde received excellent coverage nationally as well as internationally, and this distinction continues being a strong point in our communication. We hope that we can achieve something similar with our Torel Palace Lisbon.
