RICHER THAN I’VE EVER BEEN
The universe comes to life with the passage of time. Time is Nature with all her expressions. Each moment, minute and second a unique expression. The passage of time has always been deeply embraced in Japan. This spirituality lives within every Grand Seiko. Ever-changing, graceful and grand. Its design unveils the differing expressions of nature as light becomes shadow. Meticulously crafted. Nature incarnated in every detail of its artistry. A tribute. In deep reverence.

I
t’s the end of September in Miami, and rapper Rick Ross has flown in from Atlanta for his first in-person shoot since quarantining at his Georgia estate. Miami, his forever home, is where he chose to have this story set. During a year in which our collaborative world has come undone under the same crisis and the United States has shown the world just how far we still need to go for human equality, Ross is emerging ready to rock our collective consciousness with a new album, “Richer Than I’ve Ever Been,” which drops in January 2021. In the wake of the release of the single “Pinned to the Cross,” he shares his thoughts about the state of our country from the perspective of a Black man that leaves no room for interpretation. Here we sit with Ross as we talk about the album, his Instagram activity during quarantine, self-discovery, success as a serial entrepreneur, and what young people need to know about multilevel wealth. Haute Living: “Pinned to the Cross” is a powerful song with a strong message. What was your intention when you recorded it? Rick Ross: That was me addressing the current issues going on in the streets. Not just the pandemic, but more specifically what’s going on in the Black community. I felt like I couldn’t move on without addressing what’s happening. What’s cool about the record is that I sent it to one of my homies to put a young lady on the chorus, and he actually put a young white man on it. I think that’s what the message is all about. The song is not about race — it’s about your talent, what you bring to the table. Of course, I could have had John Legend on the record, but I let a young, white, unknown artist [Finn Mathews] be on it and gave him an opportunity. I think that speaks volumes. HL: What does the album’s title mean to you? RR: A lot of different things. To be richer than you’ve ever been, you have to be connected with yourself more than you ever have. Before you open up and allow someone else to love you, you have to love yourself. And that’s just one of the things — I could smoke all day and night and tell you 100 things that it means to me. On the surface, some would say, of course, “Rozay got to the money,” and that is true — I’m in a better position than I’ve ever been. But it’s much deeper than that. HL: How has this pandemic affected you personally? What have you discovered about yourself? RR: I most definitely have noticed my flaws more than I ever have. Being successful, running around, you don’t have much time to really sit down and reflect and recognize the things you could be doing so much better. The things you can invest in, even if it’s just 15 more minutes every day. And that begins with yourself and everybody else who means the most to you. HL: The world watched as you and 2 Chainz battled it out with your catalogs of music on VERZUZ on Instagram. How did that come to pass? RR: That was cool, it was dope. When Swizz hit me with the idea, I made it clear what I was hearing from the streets as other names were coming up as well. Swizz Beatz is a person I respect. He’s brought a lot of business to my table, and it’s always been positive. So I told him, “I’m not questioning it, let’s do it!” And I respect 2 Chainz for showing up and repping himself like he did. I’m gonna be honest, there’s a lot of people who wouldn’t accept that Rozay challenge. Ninety-five percent of other artists would have come down with Covid that morning and they couldn’t make it, they lost their sense of taste or smell and all that other bullsh-t. But homey came through and definitely represented like a boss, so I salute him. @hauteliving HAUTE LIVING 17
“I THINK IT’S COOL TO ACKNOWLEDGE YOUR FLAWS BECAUSE THAT’S A SIGN OF SUCCESS. FAILURE IS A SIGN OF SUCCESS. IF YOU ARE AROUND SOMEONE THAT NEVER FAILED, THERE’S A GOOD CHANCE THAT THEY ARE NOT SUCCESSFUL.” HL: Since we last talked, you’ve had a couple of health scares. In March 2018 you were hospitalized after being found unconscious, and you have a history of seizures. How are you doing today? RR: That’s one of the other definitions of “Richer Than I’ve Ever Been.” It’s my health and where I am now. I’m coming on close to two years without a seizure, which would be the first time in a decade. And that’s big. I’m focusing on my health, resting a little more, eating a little better. You know I’m still going to run around a little bit. There are certain things I may never be able to change, but I’m working on myself, just a little bit at a time, and I’m seeing those improvements. HL: Will we see and feel these personal transitions in your new music? RR: Well, the music is about “Let’s become powerful, let’s attain those things that we couldn’t, because we are attaining them as we speak.” I don’t want to be one of those dudes who’s getting money and scared to discuss that. I understand there are a lot of things you do keep private when it comes to money. But at the same time, somebody has to be an example to show youngsters that you can make this happen. Yeah, most definitely you can enjoy your own champagne, you can enjoy your own cheeseburgers or your own lemon-pepper wings or whatever it is you want to enjoy. If you want to own a car dealership, do it — take it to the next level. On this album, most definitely, I feel it’s going to be special in a lot of different ways. I had more time to sit there with the music and my producers, the production, the recording, than I would have if it weren’t for the pandemic. I believe that you are going to feel it. It’s going to resonate on many different levels. HL: It seems like you only invest in things you really love and enjoy, and that's the secret to your success. RR: I believe so, too. I’m not a genius at all, and I don’t surround myself with a huge team of strangers and people with college degrees who use words I don’t. That doesn’t mean anything to me. To me it’s really all about the concept, the idea, and if the passion is really there. I ask myself: Do I really believe in this? If I believe in it, it’s going to work. And it’s hard to see anything fail once I really dedicate myself to it, because I’m going to reach out to everybody to support it the same way I support whatever it is you have going on — whatever it is D. Wade has going on, whatever it is Udonis has going on, whether it’s the 800° pizza spot, I’m going to pull up and I’m going to rep. To me that’s what business is all about. The foundation of all business is networking. From Wingstop to RICH by Rick 18 HAUTE LIVING hauteliving.com
Ross, Belaire, Bambu, McQueen and the Violet Fog — I think with the success of all the brands that I’ve partnered up with, I’m witnessing this transition going from start-up company to powerhouse. And whatever market it is that I take on, I realize that my most valuable asset is my time. It’s not even my money — I get the biggest return on products that I really invest time in. I still love lemon-pepper wings; I still sip my Belaire everywhere I go. I start my day with it. And that’s just the facts. If I love it, it’s not work to me. HL: What does “multilevel wealth” mean to you? RR: Multilevel wealth…well, it defines me in the way that me becoming a millionaire may be in a dozen different ways. We began multiple projects, and we’re seeing seven-figure returns as we continue to expand. I’m negotiating with a protein company, Rap Snacks, because I like their potato chips. I put it on my Instagram story, and 48 hours later, we were in the middle of a negotiation. To me that’s what it’s about, whether it’s about being a franchisee, being in the alcohol business, or being in the marijuana business. Shout-out to Burner and my partner Cookies — we launched [cannabis brand] Collins Ave, and we have three new flavors that are selling out crazy. Cookies was one of the first to get one of the 20 [cannabis] licenses in Florida, so we’re looking to take over Florida and do business with everybody. We are in the hemp business, the marijuana business, the liquor business, the sports business — we are doing it all, and to me that is what multilevel wealth is, when you get money not just one way, not just two, but in multiples. HL: We’ve been watching you on Instagram in the mornings doing your barefoot walks. Tell us about that. RR: Ha! Yeah, I call them “barefoot chronicles.” I wake up early in the morning and I’m in the zone, and I walk outside with a spliff, playing music, barefoot, wanting to get the dew in between my toes. I say a prayer, I think of something that I’ve never thought of, and I expand my vision. HL: Miami is very special to you, even though you have residences in other places. Why is that? RR: I was raised right here, graduated, the whole nine yards. Miami 305 will forever be the foundation, but there’s a lot of money to get, and that’s global. That’s what I want the youngsters to see: You can’t just sit in one spot to get money. That’s what multilevel wealth is. That’s getting money in New York, in L.A., Miami, Atlanta, Madagascar, Africa! Wherever the business is, there’s a good chance Rozay may end up there. There’s no telling where my next estate might be, and I look forward to it.
“BEFORE YOU OPEN UP AND ALLOW SOMEONE ELSE TO LOVE YOU, YOU HAVE TO LOVE YOURSELF...”
HL: What are your promotional plans for the release of the new album? How are you staying close to your fans during the Covid pandemic? RR: I have my team at MMG and Epic looking at the big picture and handling the release of the album from a promotional perspective. For me personally, what has changed already is, for example, the barefoot chronicles. If we weren’t in the middle of a pandemic, that’s something Rozay would have never done, because under normal circumstances we would be traveling the world performing. I get thousands of DMs every day asking me how I lost weight and if it was surgery, and it wasn’t. So what I do is I show them what I begin my day eating. I start with eggs, a little kale, turkey bacon. I do that for the people who really want to see it. It’s also creating content and staying in touch with my fans and my loved ones. HL: Is there a track on the album that means more to you? How is this album different than your previous ones? RR: I have those special records. I most definitely have those types of records that you feel, and you express your pain, you express your flaws. On this one, it’s my flaws that I acknowledge the most. I think it’s cool to acknowledge your flaws, because that’s a sign of success. Failure is a sign of success. If you’re around someone who’s never failed, there’s a good chance they are not successful. HL: What are you dreaming about now? RR: Just about seeing everything we’ve begun being executed. Let’s begin something, but let’s see it through — let’s finish it. Other than that, let’s make sure we clean the table and get all the money that’s meant for us. And let’s learn to ride our horses really good. Let’s overcome that fear. 20 HAUTE LIVING hauteliving.com

+DREAM DESTINATIONS The recently opened hotels we’re fantasizing about visiting when travel is possible and practical again BY LAURA SCHREFFLER
WE’VE ALL MADE MANY SACRIFICES IN 2020 DUE TO COVID-19, ONE OF WHICH HAS BEEN THE
ability to travel. Until that day when we can fly safely again, here are the destinations we’re dreaming of visiting…
For the ultimate socially distant stay, book:The private reserve, a threebedroom, 6,930 squarefoot retreat with its own pool, spa treatment room, steam room and gym as well as a fully-equipped and semi-outdoor boffi kitchen.
SIX SENSES SHAHARUT If you’d like a Biblical experience in the truest sense of the word, it’s time to descend on Six Senses Shaharut, located within the Ancient Negev Desert’s Arava Valley, often
described as the nexus of heaven and earth. Here, sunsets meld into the orange dunes to become an inky sky scattered with stardust, transforming into burning embers of pink and gold that inspire the property’s name (“Shaharut” translates as “the moment just before dawn”). The resort is comprised of just 60 suites and pool villas, which occupy a total footprint of approximately 46 acres, altogether a tiny fraction of the Negev Desert, which stretches over approximately half of the Holy Land. The experiences here, as it were, are divine. There’s an Earth Lab for those who want to learn about the area that surrounds them, functioning camel stables on site, with both an arena and a grooming
area for early morning and twilight camel rides, as well as off-road driving, mountain climbing, mountain biking, rappelling, hiking, camel or jeep safaris, craft workshops and bird watching tours in the Arava Valley. Additionally, there are overnight camel camping trips and dune walking tours with Bedouins. For those who prefer to stay on site, the brand offers one of its signature Six Senses Spas, which has saunas, hammams, indoor and outdoor pools, a gym, and a yoga studio with desert views. in the Arenal Volcano National Park, have been built at a higher altitude on the hillside to provide unobstructed, majestic views of the volcano. Those afraid of glamping need not be. This is barefoot luxury at its finest. Each
tent has its own private plunge pool, fed by natural mineral hot springs, a
double-headed outdoor shower, wooden floors, a four-poster, canopied bed and a spacious bathroom with an oversized tub. There’s also a swim-up bar
and gourmet restaurant available for all. That being said, the intent here is to
(proverbially) get lost in nature, which can be done via a slew of on-property activities such as early morning bird-watching walks, sloth sanctuary tours For the ultimate socially distant stay, book: Any room! Yes, really. All luxury tents are the same price, have views of the volcano and equal amounts of privacy. You literally cannot go wrong.
or soaking in the thermal waters of EcoTermales which dot the property.
Other activities offered include rainforest hikes (with picnics!), trekking over dried lava fields, visiting nearby mom-and-pop coffee farms, daily yoga and meditation suspended above the trees, kayaking and canopying. Get ready for a life-changing eco-adventure.
Arenal Volcano National Park, Alajuela Province, San Carlos, Costa Rica For the ultimate socially distant stay, book: One of the two private chalets, each of which feature a pool, direct slope access and mini-spa (though obviously guests can also book at the property’s main facility, the pioneering organic Tata Harper spa, as well).
HOTEL LE COUCOU MÉRIBEL Pardon the pun, but we’re absolutely cuckoo for Hotel Le Coucou, a chic take on a chalet located piste-side in Méribel, France,
the oldest — and one of the most affluent — ski resorts in the Trois Valley area. Paris-based designer Pierre Yovanovitch designed
the 55-room property, which is perched on the heights of Belvédère, close to Le Rond-Point des Pistes, with incredible attention to detail, but also a playfulness — and joyfulness, really — that doesn’t always exist in this somewhat stuffy, genteel region. A polka
dot carpet simulates falling snow, suspensions of frosted glass evoke melting ice and mischievous touches like a table with ski pole
legs, owl coat hooks and bouclé chairs with teddy-bear ear headrests can be found everywhere. The singing cuckoo element is more visibly blatant as well. A full wall in the hotel’s Beef Bar is occupied with an entire collection of vintage birds. The idea behind this? Luxury does not need to take itself so seriously. and also served as the former headquarters of the London Metropolitan Police.
And today, in its current reincarnation, it seamlessly blends its storied past with all the modern amenities one could ask for. HBA designers have decorated the hotel in Edwardian-inspired hues and patterns, as well as bursts of color that

hotel is chock-full of art that also embodies this theme: pieces from contemporary British artists Cornelia Parker, Alastair Mackie, Ann Carrington, Marcus Hodge and Piers Bourke — some of which feature Queen Victoria and current Queen Elizabeth II — mingle with antique curiosities and memorabilia linked to the
history of crime, detective work and ceramics and sculpture by serving prisoners working with The Koestler Trust. Culinary outlets also blend the old and new:

CAN YOU CRACK THE CODE OF THE LATEST ROLLS-ROYCE WRAITH
special edition? It’s no easy feat, as only two people in the world know the secret, encrypted cipher messages that are the key component of the new Wraith Kryptos Collection. This elusive, limited-edition luxury vehicle is a cryptography-lovers’ dream come true. With only 50 units being made, the Kryptos Collection serves as the perfect embodiment of the brand’s ethos of delivering bespoke products to its collectors, utilizing the finest materials and contemporary applications. The Wraith Kryptos Collection features the encrypted cipher throughout the car—upon first glance, appearing as an alluring design for aesthetic purposes only. However, upon further examination with a keen eye, it is clear that there is, indeed, a hidden message there that only those few who hold the key will come to realize. Torsten Müller-Ötvös, CEO, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, commented, “The brilliant and creative minds of our Rolls-Royce Bespoke Collective have excelled once again, creating an extraordinarily contemporary and compelling iteration of Wraith. The Wraith Kryptos Collection, on first glance, is a statement of dynamism. On closer examination, a series of messages are hidden behind a unique Rolls-Royce cipher. I look forward to seeing whether any of our clients will crack the code!” So, who exactly, holds the key to the code? Only two people at the Home of Rolls-Royce in Goodwood—the designer and the Chief Executive. The answer has been locked away in the safety of a sealed envelope

inside the safe of the Chief Executive. Clients are encouraged to take a stab at cracking the code and submitting their guesses via a highly-secure, members-only Rolls-Royce application. The enticing journey begins with the car’s emblematic Spirit of Ecstasy, which features an engraving with green enamel detailing, making its way to the bumper and inside the car, boasting a beautiful Delphic Grey bespoke color. Keeping in theme, only in the sunlight do the blue and green mica flakes appear, accentuated by a hand-painted double coachline with the upper Krystos Green and the lower in Dark Grey. The polished wheels complete the look with an Orbit Grey hue. The most apparent clue lies within the car’s plush headrests, where the Rolls-Royce signature double R can often be found, which have the cipher embroidered throughout. “The name Kryptos is derived from Ancient Greek, referring to something unseen, hidden and coded, mythical even. Ciphers can be traced through millennia, capturing the imagination of some of the world’s most brilliant minds,” says Rolls-Royce Bespoke Designer, Katrin Lehmann. “As a designer, I’ve always been fascinated by the notion that you can communicate messages that are understood by only an elite few, using symbols, pictograms, and ciphers. Finding the key becomes integral to appreciating the full meaning of an item that can otherwise be viewed simply as a work of art.” Now only one question remains—who will crack the code? We’ll have to wait and see.

+BALL OF FIRE Bugatti Bolide: the latest hypercar concept revealed.

BOLIDE TRANSLATES TO “FIREBALL” OR “FLAMING
Meteor” in French and the latest revelation by Bugatti is just that. The Bugatti Bolide is a track-oriented hyper sports car that if reached the production line would bring about major shifts in the automobile industry. It could even make the Bugatti Chiron look outdated. Unveiled at the Bugatti headquarters in Molsheim, Alsace, France on October 28th of this year, this hypercar is built around an eight-liter W16 gasoline engine with four turbochargers, a seven-speed electronically controlled dual-clutch multiple-shaft automatic gearbox (DSG), and permanent allwheel drive. The major highlight, however, is the astounding weight-to-power ratio of 0.67 kg per PS and 1,364 lb-ft with a weight of just 1,240 kilograms. Bolide will be capable of a maximum lateral acceleration of 2.8 G. Zero-100 kph runs will burn off in 2.17 seconds on the way to a top speed of over 500 kph in 20.16 seconds. The roof intake scoop of the Bolide is capable of morphing in response to vehicle speed, creating a field of bubbles at fast speeds to reduce aerodynamic drag and lift forces and remains smooth at slow speeds. Bugatti has ensured the minimum body structure that would be required to qualify for FIA safety standards, with the height of only 995 millimeters – an intentional measure to match the tires. Bugatti has designed newly developed dethrottling intake and exhaust system, four turbochargers with optimized blades and hybrid carbon titanium turbofan radial compressors to aid the speed. Instead of water-to-air inter-cooling, the Bugatti Bolide has air-to-air inter-cooling with water pre-cooling for optimal performance on the racetrack. Three air-cooled oil coolers for engine, transmission, and differential with water pre-cooling reduce the temperature even on dynamically demanding speeds. The Bugatti Bolide is a masterpiece of automobiles with its emphasis on light-weight materials and weightsaving production processes. The car body is carbonmonocoque with every screw and fastening element of the car made completely out of titanium. To ensure strength while keeping the weight in check, Bolide uses hollow, thin-walled functional components made from aerospace titanium alloy in many places that can withstand a continuous operating temperature of up to 260 degrees Celsius. The thin-walled components are manufactured using 3D printing while others use ultra-stiff carbon fibers. Bolide uses coated ceramic disc racing brakes with callipers that weigh only 2.4 kilograms each, while the front and rear wheels are extremely light-weight forged magnesium. According to the company, “Whether the Bugatti Bolide will go into series production, has not been decided yet.”

LAMBORGHINI HAS DONE IT AGAIN! FIRST THE
Italian luxury manufacturer came out with an SUV just a few years ago, to the extreme excitement of the media and general public. Now the brand has invented something even better, a new sports yacht. Hailed as the newest jewel of the ocean, Automobili Lamborghini and the Italian Sea Group has just introduced to the world the Tecnomar Lamborghini 63’. The new motor yacht is available as a limited edition in relevance to Lamborghini’s founding in 1963. The Tecnomar is said to be a pleasure to drive, thanks to technology, world class engineering, and a gorgeous Italian design not seen since the days of the vintage James Bond films of the ‘60s. It all started with several group sessions at Lamborghini’s Centro Stile, using the Lamborghini Sián FKP 37 as a base draft. The hybrid super sports car incorporates a supercapacitor and new science technologies.
The complexity of combining the genes of both brands inspired all aspects of making the dream a reality. From technical detailing to design aspects allowing the boat to go faster, not a cent was spared to create the ultimate watercraft. Stefano Domenicali, Chairman and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini said, “If I had to imagine a Lamborghini on water, this would be my vision. I’m delighted to celebrate this successful collaboration.” Giovanni Costantino, CEO of The Italian Sea Group, added, “Selected owners around the world will own not only the fastest Tecnomar motor yacht in the fleet but a Tecnomar for Lamborghini 63 masterpiece. I’m proud that we have chosen to create this innovative and challenging project with Automobili Lamborghini, which links technology, supreme design, quality and performance.” The Lamborghini Sián FKP 37 at its heart values and executes the concepts of speed and lightweight engineering. The Tecnomar isn’t just a statement—it represents the highest standard in high-end, ultraluxurious speed boats. The super sports car of the sea from the Italian automaker comes roaring with power, too. It offers two MAN V12-2000 hp engines, reaching 60 knots, the fastest of the Tecnomar fleet. This 63-foot yacht is made of carbon fiber material, making it ultra-lightweight at only 24 tons. The exterior offers a modern, sharp, cutting-edge nautical appearance. The superstructure’s hull is created in a unique shell, engineered by special hydrodynamic sciences. The solid hardtop was thought of by Lambo’s roadsters as additional input, with the idea to allow sun and wind protection. The lights are Y-shaped in homage of the brand. The interior is no exception. Lamborghini’s newest vessel offers hexagon-shaped, clean lines, with materials incorporated throughout the yacht of designer standards. The yacht’s instrument panel brings the car cockpit to the ocean. With an integrated control system and state-ofthe-art navigation system (basically every toy you could think of), you will never get lost. Details are finished in carbon fiber, with Lamborghini’s Carbon Skin™ used in the sports seats and on the helm, styled as the super sports car’s steering wheel. The start and stop buttons are exactly the same as one of the brand’s cars. Production of the vessels will begin in 2021.

Heesen Yachts commences construction of Project Sparta, a 67-meter superyacht with a delivery date of 2023. BY NIKITA PAWAR
HEESEN YACHTS HAS STARTED THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE
Project Sparta, a 67-meter superyacht that is set to be delivered in 2023. Sparta is inspired by Heesen’s 66-meter Project Avanti, which was presented at the Monaco Yacht Show 2018, and, according to the yard, “captured the attention” of the owner. Weighing approximately 1200 gross tons, it is the largest steel-hull displacement motor yacht by the Dutch shipyard. During the laying ceremony on October 19th, a Greek coin with the image of Poseidon and a galloping horse were added to the yacht keel by its owner. The superyacht will possess the impressive and innovative Fast Displacement Hull Form (FDHF) — an iteration of the patented design by Van Oossanen Naval Architects, while the London-based Winch Design studio has designed the stunning, expansive interior and exterior. Arcon Yachts of Monaco is appointed as the project manager by the owner, as well. Perry van Oossanen of van Oossanen Naval Architects commented: “The Fast Displacement Hull Form of Project Sparta, combined with the sleek design by Winch and the optimized building methodology by Heesen, makes this yacht really stand out in terms of performance and efficiency. With engines quite typical for a yacht this size, she will easily reach her contract speed and outrun other yachts of this size and power, both in speed and range.” According to the brand, Project Sparta is a reflection of the owner’s lifestyle, thus, the entire bridge deck is reserved for the owner with two suites and a private terrace with an outdoor dining
and lounging zone. An off-center spiral staircase with glass elevator services all three decks. Sparta is designed to create the perfect haven for family life and relaxation. A crew of 14 and two staff would discreetly service 12 guests. The main deck harbors the four spacious guest suites. A sliding partition can transform the two forward cabins into a luxurious full-beam VIP suite. The crew quarters and galley are located on the lower deck. The focal attention on the sundeck is the Jacuzzi surrounded by a bar and large sun pads, while the spacious outdoor sunbathing area makes it intimate and close to nature. The lower deck offers a luxurious walk-in wellness area with oval Jacuzzi, sauna, steam room and gymnasium. The indoor dining area seamlessly connects to the aft deck terrace, which is protected on both sides for optimal comfort, and allows for a smooth transition, both at anchor and when underway. The 1,200 GT also features a stepped aft deck area with a 6.5-meter infinity pool. Smart and seamless connectivity to various parts of the yacht and carefully designed flow of movement make Project Sparta not only beautiful but extremely efficient. Two MTU 12V4000 M65R diesel engines will power the yacht to reach a maximum speed of 16 knots and a range of 4,500 nautical miles for transatlantic cruising at a 12-knot speed. A shell door located on the port side, and tenders and toys will be conveniently stored in the forward garage with gull-wing doors. Setting new standards, Sparta promises to deliver on all fronts.

Ferretti Group launches its first new model of 2020, the 26.8-meter Riva 88’ Folgore. BY NIKITA PAWAR
THE YEAR 2020 MIGHT BE TREMULOUS IN MANY WAYS SO FAR, BUT
it has also been a catalyst in triggering innovations, designs and directions. The 26.8-meter yacht, Riva 88’ Folgore, was launched in La Spezia on May 25, marking the first launch of a new Riva model since the coronavirus outbreak began after its announcement in January 2020. Alberto Galassi, CEO of Ferretti Group said, “The launch of the first new model in 2020 represents a new renaissance for the Ferretti Group, which restarts from Riva, [a] brand becoming more and more a contemporary myth, the essence of Made in Italy and a tangible sign of a country that starts again.” The brainchild of Mauro Micheli of Officina Italiana Design and the Ferretti engineering team, Riva 88’ Folgore is a yacht that has the exterior elements derived from the automotive world, while the interiors call for the calm and quiet of the sea. This majestic boat brings together elements of luxury and sport with an intriguing shark-grey colored hull with black detailing and interiors with deep mahogany and steel inlays. Another interesting feature is the glass-top roof on the superstructure that can be opened and be tilted towards the
front or towards the end of the boat to let in a lot of sunlight and fresh air during navigation or at anchor. The interiors are a stylish combination of precious of wood, steel, marble and crystal glass. Welcoming eight guests onboard, Riva 88’ Folgore offers four double bed or twin bed staterooms on the lower deck with separate bathrooms on the lower deck. The master suite is located at the bow where the owner can choose from three different layouts for the fullbeam master suite, such as wood, leather and steel, including polished rosewood and white parquet. The highlight of this yacht is the distinguished rear door where guests can open it to sit parallel to the waterline or immersed in the water creating a six-square-meter beach club that can be submerged to help launch and recover the tender. Riva 88’ Folgore is powered with a pair of MTU 16V 2000 M96L engines, enabling a top speed of 39 knots and a cruising speed of 33 knots. Celebration Hublot launches two limited-edition watches to celebrate Ferrari’s 1000th Grand Prix.
THIS YEAR, THE FORMULA 1 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
is celebrating its 70th anniversary, but that is not the only milestone for 2020. This September, Ferrari took part in its 1000th Grand Prix, an event that underscores the importance of Ferrari in Formula 1, and vice versa. Also, the race took place at the Mugello circuit in Ferrari’s home country of Italy—that being the icing on the cake. As Ferrari’s timekeeping partner, Hublot is marking this extraordinary occasion with two equally special limited-edition timepieces named the Big Bang Ferrari 1000 GP. The first version is dedicated to Ferrari’s heritage, which it expresses through its polished white gold case and a unique strap that combines traditional peccary leather on a lining of black rubber, finished with white stitching. While the shape of the case is still distinctly modern, the combination of materials gives the watch a vintage feel while the movement—visible through the transparent dial—can be seen as a mechanical reference to Ferrari’s earlier Formula 1 cars. 62 HAUTE LIVING hautetime.com
The second limited-edition is quite different in nature. While the design is essentially the same, the materials used make all the difference. With this, the real power of the ‘Art of Fusion’ is exemplified. The case is made out of Carbon Ceramic, which gives it a unique texture and high-tech appearance. In comparison to the white gold edition, this watch is also feather-light. The strap is made of SuperFabric—an ‘armored’ fabric that is not only strong, but also light and flexible. Its texture extends the high-tech look of the watch to the strap. Both watches are 45mm in diameter and powered by caliber HUB1243, a UNICO manufacture movement with a flyback chronograph, column wheel, automatic winding, and a generous power reserve of 72 hours. Each edition is limited to just 20 pieces, as placing these numbers next to each other makes 2020—the year that Ferrari saw its landmark achievement of participating in its 1000th Grand Prix.

relationships with their ambassadors as Richard Mille. The bond between the brand and Rafael Nadal—currently ranked world No. 2 in men’s singles tennis by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP)—is already in its tenth year and has resulted in quite a few breathtaking watches in the last decade. Another one will be added to this as well, as Mille and Nadal teamed up once again for the RM 27-04 Tourbillon Rafael Nadal—a 50-piece limited-edition that costs $1,050,000, available exclusively at Richard Mille boutiques worldwide. This watch is nothing short of breathtaking, as the ‘dial’ mimics the strings of a tennis racket and actually supports the entire movement. A single cable of braided steel with a diameter of only 0.27mm is strung in precisely the same fashion as a tennis racket, going through the hollow bezel 38 times and held together by two tensioners, which Mille crafted from PVD-treated red gold. This mesh plays an essential role in supporting the movement, as the back of the baseplate is connected to the string mesh through five, 64 HAUTE LIVING hautetime.com
grade 5 titanium hooks, all of which have been given a red gold PVD treatment and polished finish. This ensures that the movement is capable of managing accelerations of over 12,000 g’s—a new record for Richard Mille. Another extraordinary thing is that the watch, including the strap, only weighs 30 grams, made partially possible by the case, which is made out of TitaCarb. This material is exclusive to Richard Mille and this marks the first time the brand is using it. It is a polyamide, to which carbon fiber has been added, making it one of the most resistant, high-performance polymers in the world. The manual wind movement is fitted with a one-minute tourbillon and the usual Richard Mille features, such as a fast-rotating mainspring barrel, barrel pawl with progressive recoil and spline screws in grade 5 titanium. While the RM 27-04 Tourbillon Rafael Nadal is a very advanced and technical watch, it also features traditional finishing, made evident by the hand-polished beveling. Nadal was wearing the $1,050,000 RM 27-04 Tourbillon Rafael Nadal while playing in this year’s French Open, a tournament that he won, for the 13th time.

To ensure the utmost safety of all guests and staff, health measures were implemented including temperature checks upon entrance, sanitation stations with masks and hand sanitizer available throughout the boutique and socially-distanced tables. 66 HAUTE LIVING hautetime.com

TIME
50 Cent is known for making headlines for his polarizing social media posts, and just prior to the event, had graced the cover of the NY Post emblazoned with the headline: “I Don’t Want to Be 20 Cent,” supporting President Donald Trump’s reelection in opposition of Joe Biden’s tax plans. In our exclusive cover story with the star, 50 candidly shared, “Love me or hate me, care enough to feel some sort of way,” he declared. “If there’s no [feeling at all], I’m not entertaining you.” He touched on his drive to entertain and to remain at the forefront of people’s minds, as well as the legacy he is leaving behind for his son with his business endeavors: G-Unit Records, G-Unit Brands, G-Unit Clothing Company, G-Unity Foundations Inc., SMS Promotions, Power hand sanitizer, and, his current baby, Sire Spirits, named in honor of his youngest son, Sire. 50 Cent and guests tried on coveted watches from brands such as Rolex and Patek Philippe as well as from Watches of Switzerland’s newly acquired Analog Shift, which curates the best selection of luxury vintage timepieces Watches of Switzerland Group EVP David Hurley kicked off the evening by giving a speech that touched 50 Cent’s accomplishments and welcomed guests to the Soho boutique for the special evening. Violinist Edward W. Hardy set the mood with a hip-hop-style violin performance of 50 Cent’s most iconic hits before guests took their seats for dinner. Guests dined on a mouth-watering three-course meal from Cipriani, featuring some of the brand’s signature dishes including the Baby Artichoke Salad, Baked Tagliardi with Lobster Thermidor, Slice Wagyu Strip Loin Steak, Branzino al Forno and a choice of the world-famous Vanilla Crème Meringue Cake or Seasonal berries for dessert. At the end of the evening, Haute Living Co-Founder Seth Semilof toasted to the cover star, thanking him for joining them in the celebratory affair and congratulating him on all of his accomplishments. Artist Jojo Anavim joined Semilof in presenting 50 Cent with a signature piece of artwork that was a portrait of him to honor his cover launch. Additionally, fragrance brand Initio Parfums Privés gifted 50 Cent, as well as all guest attendees in gift bags, a special bottle of “Oud for Greatness”, meant to embody greatness—a scent fitting for hip-hop’s greatest showman. @hautetime HAUTE LIVING 67

+THE WORLD ON TIME Four watches that will make you want to travel again.
THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC IS STILL MAKING IT DIFFICULT
for a lot of people to travel, both for business and leisure. Travel restrictions change on an almost daily basis, making it a challenge to plan a trip even to countries that currently permit travel. Staycations are the new normal. The following four watches were made for globetrotters, but can now be used to imitate that vacation feeling closer to home. HUBLOT BIG BANG UNICO GMT CARBON BLUE CERAMIC For those who like a sportive watch when traveling, the Hublot Big Bang UNICO GMT Carbon Blue Ceramic is the perfect match. The 45mm case is a fusion of carbon fiber and micro-blasted blue ceramic. It makes this Hublot expressive, but also light. Hublot fitted the watch with the rubber strap, which gives it superb wearing comfort, despite its generous size. The advantage of that is the ease of function readability. There is also not an event or activity that its wearer has to skip when wearing the Big Bang UNICO GMT Carbon Blue Ceramic, as it is water-resistant up to 100m/10ATM.
ROLEX GMT-MASTER II When it comes to travel watches, the Rolex GMT-Master is the benchmark. It was first introduced in 1955, while the GMT-Master II was launched in 1982, which sported a quick set hour hand, making it more user-friendly and the ability to show a third time zone. In the combination of Oystersteel and Everose gold, it becomes a very stylish watch that wouldn’t look out of place with a suit. It matches perfectly with the bidirectional rotatable bezel. It has a Cerachrom insert in ceramic, with engraved numerals and graduations, that is brown colored to indicate the day and black for the night. 68 HAUTE LIVING hautetime.com
PATEK PHILIPPE 5231J WORLD TIME Few travel watches are as charming and charismatic as the Patek Philippe 5231J World Time, with its cloisonné enamel dial center. The history of these types of world time watches made by Patek Philippe goes back many decades, and that gives this version in particular, in yellow gold, quite a bit of a pedigree. For the dial center, which is made entirely by hand, clients can choose between Europe, Africa, and the Americas. The watch is powered by caliber 240 HU, which can be admired through the sapphire caseback and features a micro-rotor. JAEGER-LECOULTRE POLARIS CHRONOGRAPH WORLD TIME Jaeger-LeCoultre is another brand that knows how to make a classic watch with a modern twist. Its Polaris Chronograph World Time offers two complications housed in a generously sized case of 44mm. Still, its wearer doesn’t have to worry about too much weight around their wrist, as JaegerLeCoultre crafted it from titanium. The Polaris Chronograph World Time is also water-resistant up to 100 meters/10ATM, which is quite a feat for a watch with two crowns, two chronographs pushers, and a display back. Through here, the wearer can also admire manufacture caliber 752A, which is made out of 274 parts. A column wheel controls the chronograph function, connected to the center seconds hand and the minute and hour counter on the dial. They are surrounded by the world time function, which is very easy to read thanks to the generous size of the watch.

BY FYI YACHTS
OVER THE PAST YEAR, THE YACHTING INDUSTRY IN MIAMI HAS EXPLODED.
From buying to chartering, the last eight months have been on fire. Led by a team of experienced brokers, Florida Yachts International has been at the forefront of the yachting extravaganza that is taking over Miami. Some may wonder why yachting is so resilient? Well, the answer is simple. There is nothing more glamorous than sailing across Miami’s beautiful turquoise waters. Brokers at FYI Yachts have not only had a fruitful year selling yachts, but a remarkably interesting year on the inventory front. One of the newer listings obtained is an eighty-five-foot, Peer Gynt. Custom-built, this is the only yacht of its kind available in the world. To showcase its exclusive listings, FYI Yachts has decided to host an event called, “Sips by the Sea” at Prime Marina in Coconut Grove, Miami. Attendees will get a chance to sample a variety of wines hand-selected by a sommelier as they tour the latest yacht inventory. The event will take place Oct. 29, 2020, and is open to yacht enthusiasts. All of FYI Yachts’ knowledgeable yacht brokers will be in attendance to display an ample mix of motor yachts, center consoles, cruisers, and sailing yachts. Aside from brokerage, Florida Yachts International has launched its very own charter program! Charters have taken off, becoming more popular than anyone could have anticipated. Rising 90 feet above Downtown Miami, the grand standalone residences feature three bedrooms, a den and four bathrooms, a rooftop for entertaining, as well as private sky pools with more than 2,576 square feet of interior space and 2,038 square feet of exterior.
