The Bold & the Beautiful:

Statement-Making Tile for the Kitchen and Bath

This showstopping master bath features striking green mosaic tiles, panoramic shower tiles with dark grey and black veining, and large format black floor tile.

We are seeing a return of the striking, the bright, and the dynamic in terms of home design. Trends in 2022 (and beyond) are all about vibrancy; all about noticing, appreciating, and gathering energizing and energy-restoring tones into our homes. ACo Design & Sales’ team member Mia Farrell says “Something we’ve been seeing a lot of is just a little bit more daring color.”

Incorporating bold tile in the kitchen and bath is an effective way to make an impact and create an aesthetic that embodies vivid, dynamic, and unapologetic style.

If you want to be a little bit more daring yourself, consider:

GOING GREEN WITH ENVY

Recently, ACo worked with homeowner McKenzie Swihart to transform a standard master bath into a spectacular spa-worthy space. Ms. Swihart wanted to create a luxury feel that reflected her personality. And her personality is nothing if not bold.

Design + Sales Consultant Kayley Vargo helped her make the statement she was seeking with an assist from the gorgeous wet room. It features a striking accent wall with tile from Dal Tile’s Remedy Collection. The gorgeous green hue (“Herbal”) hits all the right notes against the bright white floor and walls, as well as the character-rich gold finishes.

We wouldn’t say green is the new beige, but it is neutral enough to work beautifully with any number of aesthetics.

In another ACo remodel, a growing family wanted a space that fit their lifestyle and brought modern style to their home. Designer Carlie Suski worked with them to create a stunning master bath. The entire back wall boasts 2x5 DalTile Picket Mosaic tiles in an eyecatching green, while the shower features panoramic 8x48 Dal Tile Stria Bravura tiles with large dark gray and black veining. Against the backdrop of large format black floor tile, crisp white walls, light wood floating vanity, and crystal clear glass, this wall is a statementmaker.

MIX IT UP

What’s cooking in the kitchen? This is the space to introduce some flavor to your design. This is just what homeowner Hazel Walker and ACo Designer Mia Farrell did in a condo situated in an historic Italian Renaissance style building. Ms. Walker says, “I wanted something modern and not the usual run of the mill style when we started working on the design.”

With a great base of textured white cabinets and mist gray quartz countertops, this dynamic duo stopped the show with a backsplash from Walker Zanger's Biseau Collection. With a French art deco flair, it features a hexagonal pattern with deep, rich colors and a gorgeous mirrored finish to create a sense of dimension and to maximize the play of light.

PATTERNS WITH PIZZAZZ

Go boldly where no kitchen or bath tile has been before…. Your home is your canvas, and if you want a masterpiece, you might consider an unflinching patterned tile. Virginia Tile, for example, delivers the wow with their Anatolia Collection.

From striking black and white geometric with Form to a Moroccan feast for the eyes courtesy of Marrakesh, these tiles are far from ordinary. At the same time, they can integrate flawlessly into a space because they are so versatile in terms of the possibilities they offer to play with colors, textures, and materials that complement your style.

Ready to talk striking, enduring, vibrant, dynamic? Or do you want to stock up on all that is bright, and energizing? Let’s gather the bold while we can – it’ll serve us well for all the seasons to come! Connect with ACo at liveaco.com for more inspiration and a free inhome design consultation.
